Manage connected experiences across your accounts in an Accounts Centre

Updated:12 weeks ago

WhatsApp and Threads in Accounts Center are not available everywhere. Not all connected experiences are available for WhatsApp and Threads at this time.

Starting early 2026, the connected experience, Logging in with accounts, will no longer be available, and all accounts will be able to log into each other by default. This means you’ll be able to use any account to log into other accounts in the same Accounts Center.

Due to this update, some Facebook and Instagram accounts will be moved into different Accounts Centers unless Logging in with accounts is enabled for all accounts in the same Accounts Center.

For some Meta accounts, we’ll automatically allow all accounts to log into each other.

To keep your accounts in the same Accounts Center:

  1. Go to Accounts Center
  2. Navigate to Connected experiences > Logging in with accounts
  3. Select Allow all accounts to log into each other

If you want to disable login access for an account, you can move that account out of your Accounts Center.

If you want to enable login access for an account, you can add that account to your Accounts Center.

Note: Accounts can only access connected experiences, including Logging in with accounts, if they’re in the same Accounts Center.

What you should know before you set up automatic post or story sharing

  • When sharing your Facebook posts or stories to Instagram, you can only share posts from your personal profile. If you have one or more Facebook business Pages, you can't share any posts or stories that you make on your Pages.
  • When sharing your Instagram posts to Facebook, if you have a personal Facebook profile and one or more Facebook business Pages, you can choose which profile or Page to share to from any of the Instagram accounts that you've added to Accounts Centre. Your story and posts from those Instagram accounts will be shared to that Facebook profile or Page until you change it.
  • If you have a personal Facebook profile and one or more Facebook business Pages, you can choose which profile or Page to share to from any of the Instagram accounts that you've added to Accounts Centre. Your story and posts from those Instagram accounts will be shared to that Facebook profile or Page until you change it.

Set up automatic post or story sharing

  1. In Accounts Centre, tap or click Connected experiences, then tap or click Sharing across profiles.
  2. Click on the profile that you'd like to share from, then tap or click on the profile you'd like to share to.
  3. Below Automatically share, click Toggle to stop or start sharing your Facebook or Instagram posts or stories across the profiles you've selected.

When you add your WhatsApp account to the same Accounts Centre as your Facebook or Instagram account, you can share your WhatsApp Status in your Facebook or Instagram Stories.

Set up automatic post or story sharing:
  1. In Accounts Centre, tap Connected experiences, then tap Sharing across profiles.
  2. Tap the profile that you'd like to share from, then tap the profile that you'd like to share to.
  3. Turn Automatically share on or off to start or stop sharing.

If you choose to turn off this connected experience, then you may be prompted to enter a password for your account. You may not be able to log in to your accounts until you create a password.

Manage logging in with accounts

  1. In Accounts Centre, tap or click Logging in with accounts, then tap or click either Allow all accounts to log in to each other or Choose which accounts can log in to other accounts.
  2. Tap or click the Facebook, Instagram and/or Meta accounts where you'd like to manage logging in with accounts settings.

If you created an Instagram or Meta account with a Facebook account and you decide to remove that account from the same Accounts Centre as your Facebook account, then you'll be prompted to create a password for Instagram or your Meta account.

What you should know before you sync your profile information across Facebook, Instagram and/or Meta Horizon profiles:

  • To sync your profile picture, username or avatar, you also have to sync your name. This means that:
    • When you sync your name, your name will become the same across all of the profiles you've chosen to sync.
    • People will be able to see and search for you with this name and username on Facebook, Instagram and Meta Horizon.
    • People may also see suggestions (e.g. to add you as a friend or to follow you) associated with this name, username, avatar and profile picture across Facebook, Instagram and Meta Horizon.
    • If you sync profile information across your Facebook, Instagram or Meta Horizon profiles, changes that you make to your profile information (such as your name, username, profile picture and avatar) will appear across all of your profiles with synced information.
    • If you remove an account from an Accounts Centre, your profile information for profiles in that account will no longer sync.
    • Note: You can't sync profile information from a Facebook, Instagram or Meta Horizon profile to another profile on the same product (e.g. you can't sync two Instagram profiles, or two Facebook profiles).
  • When you sync your profile picture, you can choose to use either your Facebook or Instagram profile picture across your accounts. The default picture will be the picture you most recently updated. To sync your profile pictures, you also have to sync your name.
  • In order to be able to sync a username, that username needs to be available on Facebook, Instagram or Meta Horizon for the profiles that you are trying to sync.
  • If your profile reaches a lot of people, your username change may need to be reviewed. If so, you'll be notified when we've completed a review. If not, your username will change immediately if available. Your followers may be notified of your username change.
  • Changing your username will also change your Instagram account and Facebook profile URLs.

Sync your profile information

  1. In Accounts Centre, tap or click Profiles.
  2. Tap or click on your Facebook, Instagram or Meta Horizon profile.
  3. Tap or click Toggle next to Sync profile info to turn name, username, profile picture and avatar syncing off or on.

  2. To automatically send follow requests to your Facebook friends on Meta Horizon, tap or click Toggle next to your Facebook profile.
