Report bullying and harassment

Updated:39 weeks ago
If you feel that you're in immediate danger, contact your local authorities for help.

If an account is established with the intent of bullying or harassing another person or if a photo or comment is intended to bully or harass someone, please report it. You can also learn what to do if you think that someone is pretending to be you or someone else on Instagram.

Once you've reported the abuse, consider blocking the person.

Additional tips

The best protection against bullying is to learn how to recognise it and how to stop it. Here are some tips:

  • Don't retaliate. Most bullies are looking for a reaction, so don't give them one.
  • Don't keep it a secret. Talk to someone you trust, such as a close friend, family member, counsellor or teacher, who can give you the help and support you need.
  • Document and save. If someone has posted something you don't like, you can print or take a screenshot of it in case you need to share it with someone you trust later.
