How to record video on Horizon OS and Meta Quest

To record a video of what you see in your headset:

Press the Meta button or Oculus button on your right Touch controller to open your universal menu.
Select Camera, then select Record video.

A red dot will appear in your headset to indicate that recording has started. You can control the video capture indicator from Settings.

To stop recording:

Press the Meta button or Oculus button on your right Touch controller to open your universal menu.
Select Camera, then select Recording.

You can view and manage videos that you've taken in Files (under the Media or Recents folder), or in the Gallery app.

Controller shortcut

Start by holding the Meta button or Oculus button on your right controller. While holding, press and hold the right trigger to start recording.

To stop recording, use the Camera app or repeat the controller shortcut.

Tip: If you hold the Meta button for too long it will recenter your view, so make sure that you press the trigger before recentring completes.

To open the full range of camera options:

Press the Meta button or Oculus button on your right controller to open your universal menu.
Select Camera, then select Camera settings.
