CJ Mahoney serves as Chief Legal Officer of Meta Platforms, Inc. Prior to joining Meta, he served in a variety of roles at Microsoft, most recently as Corporate Vice President and General Counsel. From 2018 to 2020, CJ served as Deputy United States Trade Representative and led negotiations over the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement. Prior to joining USTR, he was a trial lawyer and partner at Williams & Connolly LLP. A native of Russell, Kansas, CJ is a graduate of Harvard College and Yale Law School, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Yale Law Journal. He served as a law clerk to Justice Anthony Kennedy during the Supreme Court's October 2007 term.
