Meta Partners with iHeartMedia to Bring Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour to Meta Horizon This Holiday

The internet was abuzz with Coldplay this summer — and with good reason. The band’s Music of the Spheres World Tour was named the highest-attended tour of all time with Guinness World Record-breaking attendance numbers for a universally-acclaimed concert described by The Times as “the greatest live music show ever.” And today, we’re teaming up with iHeartMedia to bring that magic to fans everywhere with an immersive concert experience — plus additional ways to celebrate — as a modern-day British Invasion gets set to take Meta Horizon by storm.

On December 30 at 11:00 am PT / 7:00 pm GMT, Coldplay will take over the new Arena in Meta Horizon with a free event, Coldplay Music of the Spheres World Tour: An Immersive Experience, produced in partnership with iHeartMedia. Fans can get amazing views of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour, exclusively via the Meta Horizon mobile app on iOS and Android and in VR on Meta Quest. Our team worked closely with iHeart to capture the tour during its leg at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium in immersive stereoscopic 180-degree VR. The production used 15 cameras, including four tower cams, dual rails, two Steadicams, 12 REDs, a Spydercam system, and three new Blackmagic URSAs, which offer extra resolution and sharper lenses, bringing the sights and sounds of the concert to life with stunning clarity. We secured unprecedented prime locations — closer to the band than ever before and at the highest vantage points we’ve reached yet.
