"While polio exists anywhere. It's a threat everywhere." 'Polio's Last Mile' invites you on an emotional journey to Zambia to feel the heartbeat of hope, resilience, and unwavering determination of the heroes on the front lines to end polio once and for all. Through a combination of immersive video, interviews, archival footage, ambisonic sound, and data visualization, you'll be inspired by the people, places, and innovations that have driven the 99.9% decrease in polio. But the threat remains. And it’s a pivotal time in human history. 🔵 Revisit the haunting history of polio over the past 100 years, from peak outbreaks in the 1920s to the invention of the vaccine in 1955. 🔵 Understand the spectacular impact driven by the GPEI (Global Polio Eradication Initiative) and worldwide collective action. 🔵 Transport to the front lines and on the ground in a modern-day, large-scale, door-to-door immunization campaign in Zambia - a critical global strategy in pushing polio into its final chapter. 🔵 Meet front-line workers and volunteers in powerful interviews that reflect their unwavering determination and resilience. Join us. Take action. This work was funded by a grant from the Gates Foundation.
