Fun but repetitive
I could get a sweat going but things like sounds and moves get repetitive

Nice little game with room to grow!
It is a nice concept but becomes repetitive soon. For me it is a pass for now (will request refund) but I will keep it in my watch list and may repurchase if I see some of the improvements I would like implemented. My thoughts to the developers: a) implement more workouts of different varieties b) would be great if there is some sense of progression by introducing tougher challenges AFTER defeating the previous easier ones. I do not want to have flat access to every workout but a path of progression where I have to earn my way to the tougher ones. You can implement an optional unlock for those who prefer to access everything, but make it an option for the player. c) When you present those timed targets, with the declining circle that you have to hit at the right time, DO NOT IGNORE THE EARLY HITS ON THE TARGETS. When you hit a target and see your fist go through it without any feedback, only for it to get destroyed 1 sec later when you hand is maybe trying to strike again or pull back is very immersion breaking! Yes, I understand that you want to time the hit, but hitting air with no feedback is annoying. You can still register the hit as an early / invalid strike, destroy the target with a different sound and do not count for the score (even count as negative if you prefer)... but do not let the hand go through the target without any feedback...

Great start; not enough content/too easy
I really like the idea but to be honest I was a little underwhelmed by the limited content. I see only three levels, with three difficulties each. There needs to be a LOT more variety to get into the league of the heavyweight exercise apps. It's also too easy for now; even on highest setting, it barely gets my heart rate to 100. I suggest 1) many more attacks you have to dodge; 2) your punch force mattering for damage; 3) more variety of enemies with more difficult attack sequences; 4) needing to know which hand and which direction is punching; 5) time limits when you are punching them; 6) multiple enemies attacking at once asynchronously (that's prob a harder request). I also think the trainers should be more involved and fight alongside you. It's weird they just stand there. So a lot of room to improve; will increase my rating as the app gets better!

Cute but Basic
It’s a fun story, good voice work, but the action isn’t for me. Dozens of quick time events assault you all at once, and even though it adjusts to your height, the portal to hell doesn’t, so a very tall person can’t see what’s coming. I’ll stick with FitXR.

Hoping for Redemption
Ah, Exercise Your Demons. Novel idea of a fitness game. I very much wanted to enjoy this title more than I ultimately did. Despite the cool setting which sees the protagonist working out in the fiery pits of hell, the player is tortured by a lack of engaging combat and repeated scenarios. There's a handful of critters to beat up but aside from aerial combatants, the way in which you interact with them is by dodging and hitting punching bags/weights. This immediately creates a bit of a disconnect between the player and game. Further complicating matters are the lack of varied backgrounds and arenas. The cell shaded art does a wonderful job of providing cues and whimsy but again, can only do so much of the heavy lifting. I rather enjoyed the banter between the trainers and the opportunity to level up gear/relationships, but understand that your mileage may very based on the style of humor. Some may very well find it grating. Audio is a strange bag as well….at times the trainers would talk over themselves or sound as if their voice lines were compressed to high hell. Zephyr, the chill laid back option of a companion would have been perfect for leading you through Yoga lessons and finding your inner peace. Unfortunately, this low hanging fruit was missed and the only gameplay to await your d@mned soul will be more punching and more dodging.

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review of Exercise Your Demons! We genuinely appreciate your candid feedback about both the game's strengths and areas for improvement. Your observations about the combat variety, arena diversity, and audio issues are particularly valuable, and we're actively working to address these aspects of the game. We're glad you enjoyed the cell-shaded art style and character interactions - these were important design pillars for us. Your suggestion about expanding Zephyr's role to include yoga and meditation is especially intriguing... We have a new feature we're working on for a future update that's less gameplay focused and more exercise/mindfulness.. eager to share more details soon While we can't share specifics just yet, we want you to know that we're committed to expanding and enriching the EYD experience. If you see the potential in what we've created, we encourage you to stay tuned – we're just getting started, and your feedback will help shape the game's evolution. Keep an eye on our social channels for updates on what's next for Exercise Your Demons!
