Certain voice control features and media import settings require the Meta AI mobile app to run in the background. Android OS displays a persistent notification to let you know which apps are active. You can dismiss this notification by swiping it away. The Meta AI mobile app will continue running in the background if you dismiss this notification.

Turn off auto-import media and voice control

If you're on an older version of Android OS and are unable to dismiss the notification, you’ll need to turn off auto-import in order to remove the persistent notification.

To turn off auto-import:

  1. From the Meta AI mobile app, tap Glasses in the top right.
  2. Tap Device settings.
    • If you have multiple devices paired with the Meta AI mobile app, swipe left or right to select the device you want to adjust settings for before tapping Device settings.
  3. Scroll down and tap Media.
  4. Tap the toggle next to Auto-import media to turn this feature off.

Once you turn off auto-import, all photos and videos taken with your glasses will need to be manually imported to the Meta AI mobile app.
