Control what information you share with Meta on your AI Glasses and Wrist Devices
This article describes the control you have over Additional Data, which is device information collected from your AI Glasses and Wrist Devices, including accessories. This data is subject to the Supplemental Meta Platforms Technologies Privacy Policy. Information collected from the Meta AI companion app is subject to the Meta Privacy Policy.
Meta automatically uses Essential Data from your AI Glasses and Wrist Devices to ensure they work properly and to maintain safety, security, and integrity.
You can also choose to allow Meta to use Additional Data from your devices to improve Meta Products, including developing new products and features, and to personalize your experience. You can find more details about your data choices below.
Essential Data is information needed to ensure the AI Glasses and Wrist Devices are working as expected, meeting user expectations, and providing the service as outlined in the Terms of Service. This includes using the data from your devices to ensure that the devices are operating properly, your security and privacy are not compromised, and to diagnose and fix any problems that you might have with your devices.
Examples of the types of data that are automatically used for these purposes include:
- Status of Bluetooth connectivity
- Battery status and condition
- Status of Wi-Fi connectivity
- Data to ensure your devices function consistently with your settings
- Data about when and how often you use the devices, to help us assess reliability and to help scan for potential bugs or failures
- Operating system version number to ensure the devices are up to date
- Any errors or crashes that occur to ensure that we fix them for normal functioning of the devices
- Other data required to ensure the devices function properly
- Data used to understand or reduce risk of physical safety, like information about the temperature of the devices when they are being used
- Data used to understand and improve the information and operational security of the devices, like data associated with potential software viruses and security intrusions
- Data used to respond proactively or reactively to any potential abuse or policy violations
Additional Data is information about how you use your AI Glasses and Wrist Devices. We primarily use this data to develop and improve new Meta Products and features. We also use Additional Data to evaluate other devices and features we are developing, which helps us decide what to build in order to offer products and features people value. When you choose whether to share Additional Data from your devices with Meta, the choice applies to all devices that you pair with the app. Your choice to share Additional Data does not include the photos and videos captured by your glasses.

- Data to help improve the performance of the devices:
- Data about how well the devices are working to help us improve them

- Information you share when submitting a bug report to understand the cause of the problem and to resolve the issue
You can choose to share Additional Data from your devices during initial setup. You can change this choice at any time in settings.

- From the Meta AI mobile app, tap

- If you have multiple devices paired with the Meta AI mobile app, swipe left or right to select the device you want to adjust settings for before tapping
