Switch between your profiles on Facebook and Instagram

This feature is not available for all users and is only available on mobile devices.

You can easily switch between your profiles on Facebook and Instagram with one tap while on either app. For example, you can switch between two different Instagram profiles while on Instagram, or while on Instagram, you can switch from your Instagram account to your Facebook profile.

The profiles you see as available to switch to across Facebook and Instagram appear because:

  1. You have multiple accounts added to the same Accounts Center.
  2. You recently logged in on your device.

You can manage which profiles you can switch between by updating your settings in Accounts Center. If there are profiles you don't want to show up as available to switch to, you can remove your accounts from that Accounts Center. You may still be able to switch between those profiles after removing their accounts if you've recently logged into them on your device.

Note:

  • If you have an existing profile that does not appear as an option to switch to, you can add it by logging into the associated account on your device or adding it to the same Accounts Center as an existing account.
  • If you remove an account from an Accounts Center it can take up to 24 hours to remove the profile(s) associated with the account from the profile switching screen.

Switch to an Instagram profile or another Facebook profile on Facebook

From your homepage:

  1. Tap and hold Menu on the bottom right of Facebook.
  2. Tap the profile you’d like to switch to.

From menu:

  1. Tap Menu on the bottom right of Facebook.
  2. Tap the arrow next to your name at the top of the page.
  3. Tap the profile you’d like to switch to.

Switch to a Facebook or another Instagram profile while on Instagram

From your homepage:

  1. Tap and hold the profile icon on the bottom right of Instagram.
  2. Tap the profile you’d like to switch to.

From your profile:

  1. Tap your profile icon on the bottom right of Instagram.
  2. Tap your username at the top of your profile.
  3. Tap the profile you’d like to switch to.

From your chats:

  1. Tap the messaging icon on the top right of Instagram.
  2. Tap your username at the top of your chats.
  3. Tap the profile you’d like to switch to.
