Privacy and security features you can use with your Meta Account
Your Meta Account gives you access to privacy and security features you can apply across your profiles and devices to help keep you safe on Meta products.
Passkey:
Passkeys allow you to easily log into Facebook and other Meta apps and devices. Your passkey is verified using the same Touch ID, Face ID, or device passcode that you use to unlock your device. Refer to your device information to learn more about setting up and managing your passkey.
Two-factor authentication:
Two-factor authentication is a security feature that helps protect your accounts and passwords. If you set up two-factor authentication, you'll be asked to enter a special login code or confirm your login attempt each time someone tries accessing your account from a browser or mobile device we don't recognize.
Two-factor authentication will apply across the profiles and devices in the same Meta Account, except WhatsApp.
Login alerts:
Get notified if someone tries logging into your Meta Account on Facebook or Instagram from a device or location that's unusual for you.
Security Checkup:
You can use Meta Security Checkup to review recommended actions to make your account more secure. Security Checkup will help you set up a passkey, turn on login alerts, review where you’re logged in, create a stronger password and keep your contact info up to date. Note: this feature is not available on WhatsApp.
Advanced Protection:
Advanced Protection is an advanced security feature, required for certain accounts. Accounts that face increased risk may need additional protection, that's why we created Advanced Protection. Advanced Protection helps these high-target accounts adopt stronger security protections by simplifying security features like two-factor authentication. It also provides additional security protections for people's accounts and Pages, including monitoring for potential hacking threats. Note: this feature is not available on WhatsApp.
Note: Not all Meta Account features are available for WhatsApp at this time. Learn more about which features are available if you choose to add WhatsApp to a Meta Account.
