Refer an app, game or subscription from the Meta Horizon Store
You can refer apps, games and subscriptions by generating a referral link. You must log into the Meta Horizon app or your headset using your Meta account to send a referral.
In order for a friend to claim an app or game referral, you must follow each other. You do not need to follow and be followed by someone for them to claim a referral for a subscription.
If you refer an app or game, you’ll receive up to $5 USD (or equivalent amount in your local currency, if applicable) in promotional Quest cash, depending on the price of the app, when your friend purchases and activates the app or game. Your friend will receive a 15% discount.
If you refer a subscription, your friend will receive a 30-day free trial. When they become a paying subscriber, you’ll receive a complimentary 30-day extension on your active subscription.
Send referral
To send a referral link:
- On your phone, open the Meta Horizon app.
- Tap
Menu at the top of your Horizon Feed.
- Scroll down to Payments and subscriptions, then tap Referrals.
- Tap Apps to see your apps, games and subscriptions eligible for referral.
- Tap the app, game or subscription you want to refer, then tap Share or
Send to share the referral.
- You can also tap Copy to copy the referral link to share.
You can also send a referral link from the Meta Horizon Store in the app.
- Open the Meta Horizon app on your phone and navigate to the Meta Horizon Store.
- Find the app, game or subscription you want to refer, then tap
Options in the top right.
- Select the person with whom you would like to share the app and select Send, or select Share to see more options through which to share the app.
Accept and use referral credit
To accept a referral:
- Open the Meta Horizon app on your phone, then tap
- Tap the referral link, then create a new Meta account or log into an existing account.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to redeem the app, game or subscription and your 15% discount or 30-day free trial.
Check referral status
You must be logged into your Meta account to check the status of your app, game or subscription referral.
To check your referral status:
- Open the Meta Horizon app on your phone.
- Tap
Menu at the top of your Horizon Feed.
- Scroll down to Payments and subscriptions, then tap Referrals.
- Tap Apps to see your referral status.
Limitations and eligibility
Apps and games that are not eligible for referral:
- Any app or game under $10 USD.
- Any app or game that is refunded within 14 days.
- Add-ons, extensions and in-app purchases.
You can send referrals for subscriptions only if developers opt in.
