Find the serial number for your Meta Quest headset and controllers

The numbers printed on your device’s box or packaging are different from the serial number found on the device itself. If you need your device’s serial number for a support request, follow the instructions provided on this page to locate it. Ignore any numbers found on the box or packaging, as they are not the device’s serial number.

Meta Quest headsets and Touch controllers all have unique 14-digit serial numbers. If you contact Meta Store Support, you'll likely be asked to provide your serial number so that the support agent can properly identify your device.

To locate the serial number for your Meta Quest headset or controllers, please select your device below and follow the instructions.

Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S

To locate the serial number for your headset and controllers:

Meta.com: You can find the serial number for your Meta Quest 3 or Meta Quest 3S by logging into Meta.com and visiting https://auth.meta.com/settings/my/devices/. The serial number is listed below your device model name.

Headset: The headset serial number is printed on the inside of the left headset arm. Gently pivot the headset arm upward away from the headset to expose the serial number.

Touch Plus controllers: Remove the battery door from your Touch Plus controller, then remove the battery. Your controller serial number will be on the inside of the controller under the battery below the QR code.

Meta Quest Pro

To locate the serial number for your headset and controllers:

Meta.com: You can find the serial number for your Meta Quest Pro by logging into Meta.com and visiting https://auth.meta.com/settings/my/devices/. The serial number is listed below your device model name.

Headset: On the inside part of your Meta Quest Pro headband, you'll see your serial number with a QR code. The code will be towards the back left of the headset. If you wear your Meta Quest Pro on the tighter side, or if you tighten the fit wheel to put your headset into your case, you may need to loosen the rear fit wheel so that more of the headband is exposed.

Touch Pro controllers: This one can be a bit tough to see. Press the trigger to expose the top edge where the serial number is located.

Meta Quest 2

To locate the serial number for your headset and controllers:

Meta.com: You can find the serial number for your Meta Quest 2 by logging into Meta.com and visiting https://auth.meta.com/settings/my/devices/. The serial number is listed below your device model name.

Headset: On the left side of your headset, gently pull the strap connector away from the headset until it pops off. Your headset serial number is below the QR code.

Touch controllers: Remove the battery door from your Touch controller, then remove the battery. Your controller serial number will be on the inside of the controller under the battery below the QR code.

Meta Quest 1 and Oculus Go

To locate the serial number for your headset and controllers:

Meta.com: You can find the serial number for your Meta Quest and Oculus Go by logging into Meta.com and visiting https://auth.meta.com/settings/my/devices/. The serial number is listed below your device model name.

Headset: On the left side of your headset, gently pull the right side strap back towards you. Underneath the strap on the plastic piece that connects the strap to the headset you should see a serial number QR code. Keep in mind, the straps on the original Meta Quest headset do not pop off or need to be removed to see the serial number.

Touch controllers: Remove the battery door from your Touch controller, then remove the battery. Your controller serial number will be on the inside of the controller under the battery below the QR code.

Box/packaging: On the outside of your Meta Quest box, look for a white sticker marked with a bar code. Under the bar code, find S/N to see your headset's serial number.
