How to report social media threats in California
In California, a school or mental health professional can report content or behavior on our platform that may pose a threat to a child's health and safety. A “social media-related threat” is defined as content that promotes, incites, facilitates, or perpetrates any of the following:
- Suicide
- Disordered eating
- Drug trafficking
- Substance abuse
- Fraud
- Human trafficking
- Sexual abuse
- Cyberbullying
- Harassment
- Distribution of obscenity
If you believe that content or behavior on the platform is more likely than not to cause harm to a child’s health and safety, please confirm on Facebook, Instagram or Threads that you are a school or mental health professional in California to submit a report.
Once you complete this process, we will send you an email notifying you if you are eligible to report Social Media Threats on Facebook or Instagram or Threads.
