Does Facebook keep recordings of my voice commands?
Like other voice-enabled devices, Portal listens for a wake phrase (“Hey Portal”) and, once detected, processes and records your voice command. Accounts connected to your Portal can view and delete the history of Portal voice commands in their Facebook Activity Log.
- Like with other voice assistants, Portal may mistakenly hear a wake word when you haven't said one. You'll find recordings of these instances marked as [Portal name] could not transcribe audio in your Facebook activity log, where you can access, manage and delete them.
- This will include audio, but not a transcript.
- We use voice command recordings and transcripts to fulfill your requests and to improve our products and services.
- If you have Alexa enabled, you can manage your Alexa voice history in the Alexa app.
