How your child can create and collaborate in Worlds

Creating in Worlds

As a creator in Worlds, your child can create new worlds for others to explore. When you as a parent or guardian grant your child age 10-12 years old (age may vary by region) with a parent-managed Meta account access to worlds with different world ratings (ages 10+, ages 13+) you also grant access for your child to create and publish worlds at those world ratings levels. As a world creator, your child can:

  • Publish and un-publish the world.
  • Add and remove collaborators from their approved contacts list to build the world together.
  • Request to collaborate with non-approved contacts.
  • Duplicate the world and everything in it.
  • Delete the world.

Just like any world creator, when your child creates and publishes a world they have to complete the world rating survey before publishing. If your child creates attempts to publish a world rated for ages above a world rating that they have access to, you will be notified via email and collaborator access may be impacted. Children are not allowed to publish worlds that contain ages 18+ content.

Collaborating in Worlds

Children can collaborate and build worlds with their approved contacts. Your child can request to collaborate with non-approved contacts, and a parent must approve their collaboration. If they are not an approved contact, voice chat restrictions are still in effect. Children can only verbally communicate with approved contacts. You are notified when any collaborator is added to a world.
