How to moderate an event in worlds
Within the event, additional moderation tools are available to event hosts, co-hosts, and moderators.
To access the moderation tools in worlds:
- Press
Meta on your left Touch controller to open your menu.
- Find and select the event page.
- Select Manage people.
From the Manage people page, you can see people who are in the same event session as you. Click on a person to access the following options:
- Change role allows you to request a person to co-host or moderate the event with you. They will be asked to accept or decline the role invitation. You can cancel the role invitation, or change an accepted role at any time.
- You can select Mute to mute someone individually or select Mute all to mute everyone in the event. You are unable to mute hosts, co-hosts and moderators.
- You can Warn someone if they’re being disruptive. They will be notified that you have warned them. Consider this as a step before removing them.
- You can also Remove anyone from your event. They will be removed immediately, and they cannot re-join.
You can moderate other people using the options above as long as they have a role that is lower than yours:
- Hosts can moderate co-hosts, moderators and audience members
- Co-hosts can moderate moderators and audience members
- Moderators can moderate audience members only.
Accepting a co-host or moderator role before the event starts
Invited co-hosts and moderators can accept their invitation from the event details page on the worlds website.
Accepting a co-host or moderator role during the event
If you’ve been invited to co-host or moderate an event and haven’t yet accepted or declined the role, you’ll be prompted to accept or decline the role invitation when you join the event.
Alternatively, if you’re invited to co-host or moderate during the event, you’ll be immediately prompted to accept or decline the role invitation.
