When you export your Meta account information, you can customize what information you export, including data logs and device logs.

Data logs

Data logs are additional details we collect and store that can be associated with you. These logs can be unique but can also be additional details about information already provided in your profile and account downloads. It can include things like:

  • Your logged interactions, including things you’ve viewed or clicked on.
  • Information that supports the use of Meta Horizon, such as personal information generated by your devices and third-party apps or websites you have logged into using your Meta account login.

Device logs

Device logs are additional details we collect and store. These logs can be unique but can also be additional details about information already provided to you. It can include hardware information from devices, including:

  • Sensor readings (example: device temperature)
  • Sensor control events (example: microphone turned on)
  • Actuator controls (example: haptics activated)

Export data logs and device logs

Data logs and device logs are exported together.

If you’d like to export data logs and device logs, select Customize information when you are exporting your information. Data logs and device logs will be a separate export from your account information because they take longer to prepare.

You will get a notification when they are ready to download. It may take up to 15 days to get data logs and device logs. They won’t delay the other information you request, which is typically ready in a few hours.
