A Meta account for Meta Horizon lets you log into Meta Quest devices, the Meta Horizon mobile app and more.
You can set up your Meta account for Meta Horizon using your email, Instagram account or Facebook account. In some cases, you may be able to create an account using just your birthday.
How to create a Meta account as a new user:

If you’re creating your account with just your birthday, you only need to provide your birthday and a password to start. You will need to add your contact information in order to keep using your Meta account. Any accounts without contact information added after 45 days will become inactive. Inactive accounts will be deleted after 30 days.
Your Meta account information isn’t public. You can manage how you appear with your Meta Horizon profile.
After creating your Meta account, you can add or remove this account from the same Accounts Center as your Facebook and Instagram accounts at any time.
If you choose to set up a Meta account with Facebook or Instagram, you will have access to connected experiences, like finding your Instagram followers to play games.
When you create a Meta account with Facebook or Instagram, your Meta account will be added to the same Accounts Center as your Facebook or Instagram account. You can always choose to remove accounts from the same Accounts Center or disable connected experiences.
