Using the Meta Quest HDMI Link app
The Meta Quest HDMI Link app lets you connect your Meta Quest headset to any device with a HDMI or DisplayPort output. The content from the connected device is displayed in your headset in a near-zero latency window which can be freely positioned in your home environment.

Troubleshooting a blank screen
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting the capture card to the HMD.
- Make sure the capture card is UVC compatible.
- Some capture cards have more than one HDMI and DisplayPort ports. Make sure you are using the right input port.
- Capture cards do not display video if the HDMI signal has HDCP protection enabled.
Troubleshooting low FPS
- USB 3.0 (SuperSpeed) is required for optimal FPS. Make sure you see SuperSpeed when you toggle instant stats in the streaming screen to verify USB 3.0 speed. USB 2.0 speed can be caused by poor quality capture cards or the use of USB 2.0 cables.
- Check that capture cards and cables are from a trusted vendor with specified capture speed. USB-IF certified cables aims to provide cables that meet quality standards. Some USB-C cables can only carry power and cannot carry data while others are rated for USB 2.0 speed. Some USB-C cables operate at USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 depending on orientation of the connector — flipping the USB-C cable upside down may fix low FPS.
- Make sure that your capture card supports the HDMI source device’s resolution and FPS output.
