Use Files on Meta Quest
You can use the Files app to view and manage files stored on your headset. You can also use Files to access your Google Drive files.
Open the Files app
- Press
Meta button /
Oculus button on your right Touch controller to open the universal menu.
- Select
App library to open your library.
- Select Files to launch the app.
Browse your files
Use the side navigation to browse different storage locations:
- This headset, Recents, Downloads, Media, Documents: files stored on your headset's internal storage.
- Google Drive: appears once you connect a Google Drive account. Only one account can be connected at a time. To use a different account, disconnect the current one from Settings first.
- Search: search across your files.
- Connect drive: appears when you have no cloud accounts connected. If you don’t see this option, make sure your software is up to date by checking for system updates. If you still don't see the option, your account or region may not be eligible.
- Managed files: appears on enterprise (Quest for Business) devices.

Change the Files app layout
From the Files app, select the List or Grid option in the top toolbar to change the layout.
Sort your files
- From the Files app, select the file sorting option in the top toolbar (example: Date or File type).
- Select a sorting option.
- Select the sorting option again to change ascending or descending order.
Search for files
When you search for files, remember that local search matches by file name only. Google Drive search supports content (full-text) search.
- From the Files app, select Search in the side navigation.
- Enter your search query to filter search results.
- If you connected the Files app to cloud drives, choose where to search (example: This headset or Google Drive tab).
Manage files with the context menu
The context menu lets you take action on files and folders. To open it:
- For a specific file or folder: Select
Options next to the file or folder name.
- For the the folder you’re currently viewing, either:
Press and hold the trigger button on an empty area, or
Select
Options from the toolbar.

| View info | Shows file details: name, size, created/modified dates, location, dimensions, duration, and source app |
| Open with | Lets you choose a different app to open the file |
| Share | Shares the file with other apps and contacts (availability depends on file type) |
| Download | Saves the file to your Downloads folder in internal storage (Google Drive only) |
| Open in browser | Opens the file in Google Drive on the web (Google Drive files only) |
| Copy | Copies the file to the clipboard |
| Paste | Pastes a copied file into the current folder |
| Rename | Renames the file or folder |
| New folder | Creates a new folder in the current location (also available from the toolbar or press and hold the trigger button on empty space for the current folder) |
| Delete | Permanently removes the file. There is no trash or recycle bin in the Files app. Make sure you want to delete a file before confirming deletion. |
To move a file, press and hold the trigger button on a file and drag it to another folder.
Note: Google Drive files are read-only in the Files app. You can view and download them, but cannot rename, delete, or edit them.
