Meta Quest charging docks
Meta Quest charging docks provide a dedicated space to store and charge your Meta Quest devices, ensuring they are always charged and ready when you need them. Select a model below to find out more.
Meta Quest 3 Charging Dock is only compatible with Meta Quest 3.
The Meta Quest 3 Charging Dock is a convenient and complete charging solution for your Meta Quest 3 and controllers. The Charging Dock includes two rechargeable batteries for your Touch Plus controllers, so your devices can be charged up and ready for you whenever you want to jump into your headset. The Meta Quest 3 Charging Dock is available in the Meta Store and select retailers.
The Meta Quest 3 Charging Dock comes with:
- Two rechargeable batteries for your Touch Plus controllers
- Charging dock
- Charging cable
Note: A power adapter is not included. The Meta Quest 3 Charging Dock is compatible with Meta branded (18W and 45W) and 18W+ USB PD (Power Delivery) compliant adapters. The charging dock does not work with proprietary adapters or non USB PD compliant products.
To install the rechargeable batteries in your Touch Plus controllers:
- Start by removing the battery cover on your right Touch Plus controller. The right controller has the
Meta button.
- Press the battery cover release button and carefully remove the battery cover.
- Remove the existing battery from your controller.
- Identify the right rechargeable battery. The right rechargeable battery has a "R" on the outward-facing side.
- Install the right rechargeable battery by sliding it into place in the controller with the "-" towards the top, then replace the battery cover.
- Repeat this process to install the rechargeable battery for the left Touch Plus controller.
Note: Rechargeable batteries will need to be charged before use.
To set up your charging dock:
- Plug one end of the included charging cable into the dock.
- Plug the other end of the charging cable into the 18W power adapter that came with your Meta Quest 3 headset (45W adapter recommended for fastest charging).
- Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
How to charge your headset and controllers
To charge your devices using the Charging Dock:
- Set your controllers on the charging dock on their sides with the grip button facing upward.
- Set your headset on the charging dock with the front of the headset facing toward you.
- Ensure controller straps and headset straps aren’t preventing controllers and headset from charging. You’ll know your devices are charging when the Charging Dock LEDs turn orange.
- The LEDs will turn green when your devices are fully charged.

Use the Charging Dock with other accessories
Elite Strap
To charge your Quest 3 headset with Elite Strap:
- Ensure the side arms are in horizontal position before docking on the headset charging cradle.
- The center LED on the charging dock will turn orange when the devices are charging.
Elite Strap with Battery
Before using the Charging Dock with Elite Strap with Battery for the first time, make sure your headset is on the latest software version. Learn more about how to look for headset software updates.
To charge your Quest 3 headset with Elite Strap with Battery:
- Plug the Elite Strap cable into the Quest 3 headset.
- Ensure the side arms are in horizontal position before docking on the headset charging cradle.
- The center LED on the charging dock will turn orange when the devices are charging.
Active Straps
To charge your Touch Plus controllers with Active Straps:
- Set your controllers on the charging dock on their sides with the grip button facing upward.
- Make sure the knuckle strap does not block contact between controller and charging cradle.
- The left and right LEDs on the dock will turn orange when the controllers are charging.
Note: If you are having issues charging your headset and controllers with the Charging Dock:
- Please ensure you are using a Meta branded power adapter(18W and 45W) or a 18W+ USB PD (Power Delivery) compliant adapter. The charging dock does not work with proprietary adapters or non USB PD compliant products.
- If you're using unsupported third \-party headset or controller accessories, such as replacement facial interfaces, head straps, controller sleeves, covers, or stickers, you may experience issues with using the Charging Dock. If this happens, we recommend removing the unsupported accessory to see if that resolves the issue.
- Ensure your headset's facial interface is properly installed. There shouldn’t be a gap at the bottom of the headset. If the nose bridge isn't fully inserted into the headset, it will interfere with charging.
