Meta Quest charging docks provide a dedicated space to store and charge your Meta Quest devices, ensuring they are always charged and ready when you need them. Select a model below to find out more.

Meta Quest 3 charging dock

Meta Quest 3 Charging Dock is only compatible with Meta Quest 3.

The Meta Quest 3 Charging Dock is a convenient and complete charging solution for your Meta Quest 3 and controllers. The Charging Dock includes two rechargeable batteries for your Touch Plus controllers, so your devices can be charged up and ready for you whenever you want to jump into your headset. The Meta Quest 3 Charging Dock is available in the Meta Store and select retailers.

The Meta Quest 3 Charging Dock comes with:

Two rechargeable batteries for your Touch Plus controllers
Charging dock
Charging cable

Note: A power adapter is not included. The Meta Quest 3 Charging Dock is compatible with Meta branded (18W and 45W) and 18W+ USB PD (Power Delivery) compliant adapters. The charging dock does not work with proprietary adapters or non USB PD compliant products.

Install the rechargeable batteries in your Touch Plus controllers

Start by removing the battery cover on your right Touch Plus controller. The right controller has the Meta button.
Press the battery cover release button and carefully remove the battery cover.
Remove the existing battery from your controller.
Identify the right rechargeable battery. The right rechargeable battery has a "R" on the outward-facing side.
Install the right rechargeable battery by sliding it into place in the controller with the "-" towards the top, making sure there is no gap between the battery and controller, then replace the battery cover.
Repeat this process to install the rechargeable battery for the left Touch Plus controller.

Note: Rechargeable batteries will need to be charged before use.

Set up your charging dock

Plug one end of the included charging cable into the dock.
Plug the other end of the charging cable into the 18W power adapter that came with your Meta Quest 3 headset (45W adapter recommended for fastest charging).
Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.

How to charge your headset and controllers

To charge your devices using the Charging Dock:

Set your controllers on the charging dock on their sides with the grip button facing upward.
Set your headset on the charging dock with the front of the headset facing toward you.
Ensure controller straps and headset straps aren’t preventing controllers and headset from charging. You’ll know your devices are charging when the Charging Dock LEDs turn orange.
The LEDs will turn green when your devices are fully charged.

Troubleshooting

If you are having issues charging your headset and controllers with the Charging Dock:

If the dock LED is flashing amber and green under the controller, it’s indicating an error state. For example, an AA battery is put in the controller, or the controller is not sitting correctly on the dock.
If the battery is not supplying power to the controller, open the battery door to make sure it is installed correctly, pushed all the way in and aligned properly without any gap or rotation.
If removing and re-inserting the battery still does not supply power to the controller, inspect the pogo pins on the battery and the 3 contact pads inside the controller to make sure the pins are not stuck or pads dirty. If the disconnection persists please contact customer support for assistance.
Please carry your headset and controllers with rechargeable batteries securely inside a case. Tumbling and hitting controllers may cause batteries to disengage inside controllers.
Please ensure you are using a Meta branded power adapter(18W and 45W) or a 18W+ USB PD (Power Delivery) compliant adapter. The charging dock does not work with proprietary adapters or non USB PD compliant products.
If you're using unsupported third-party headset or controller accessories, such as replacement facial interfaces, head straps, controller sleeves, covers, or stickers, you may experience issues with using the Charging Dock. If this happens, we recommend removing the unsupported accessory to see if that resolves the issue.
Ensure your headset's facial interface is properly installed. There shouldn’t be a gap at the bottom of the headset. If the nose bridge isn't fully inserted into the headset, it will interfere with charging.

Use the Charging Dock with other accessories

Elite Strap

To charge your Quest 3 headset with Elite Strap:

Ensure the side arms are in horizontal position before docking on the headset charging cradle.
The center LED on the charging dock will turn orange when the devices are charging.

Elite Strap with Battery

Before using the Charging Dock with Elite Strap with Battery for the first time, make sure your headset is on the latest software version. Learn more about how to look for headset software updates.

To charge your Quest 3 headset with Elite Strap with Battery:

Plug the Elite Strap cable into the Quest 3 headset.
Ensure the side arms are in horizontal position before docking on the headset charging cradle.
The center LED on the charging dock will turn orange when the devices are charging.

Active Straps

To charge your Touch Plus controllers with Active Straps:

Set your controllers on the charging dock on their sides with the grip button facing upward.
Make sure the knuckle strap does not block contact between controller and charging cradle.
The left and right LEDs on the dock will turn orange when the controllers are charging.

Meta Quest 3 compact charging dock

Meta Quest Compact Charging Dock is compatible with Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S.

Meta Quest Compact Charging Dock is a convenient charging solution for your Meta Quest 3 or Meta Quest 3S headset and controllers. The Compact Charging Dock includes two rechargeable batteries for your Touch Plus controllers so your devices can be charged up and ready for you. The Compact Charging Dock is available at meta.com and select retailers.

Meta Quest Compact Charging Dock comes with:

Charging dock
Two rechargeable batteries for your Touch Plus controllers
Extended power adapter cable
Headset charging cable

Notes:

Install the rechargeable batteries in your controllers and charge them using the charging dock for at least 10 seconds before first use.
A power adapter is not included. Please use the adapter that came with your Meta Quest headset or any adapter that is 18W or higher. We recommend a 45W power adapter for fast charging.

Install the rechargeable batteries in your Touch Plus controllers

Start by removing the battery cover on your right Touch Plus controller. The right controller has the Meta button.
Press the battery cover release button and carefully remove the battery cover.

Plug the extended power adapter cable into a power adapter, then plug into a power outlet.
Under the charging dock base you’ll see two icons: the power plug icon and headset icon.
Connect the power adapter cable to the USB-C port with the power plug icon and thread the cable through the channel.
Connect the headset charging cable to the USB-C port with the headset icon and thread the cable through the channel.

Charge your devices using the Compact Charging Dock

Set your controllers on the charging dock on their sides with the grip button facing upward.
Set your headset next to the charging dock and plug the headset charging cable into your headset.
You’ll know your devices are charging when the Compact Charging Dock LEDs turn orange along with the LED on your headset.
The LEDs will turn green when your devices are fully charged.

Using the Compact Charging Dock with other accessories

To charge your headset with Elite Strap with Battery:

Plug the Elite Strap cable into your headset’s charging port.
Plug the Compact Charging Dock’s headset charging cable into the Elite Strap with Battery.

To charge your Touch Plus controllers with Active Straps:

Set your controllers on the charging dock on their sides with the grip button facing upward.
Make sure the knuckle strap does not block contact between controller and charging cradle.
The LEDs on the dock will turn orange when the controllers are charging.

Updating your Compact Charging Dock

Your headset will notify you if your charging dock has an update. While your dock is updating, keep your headset and power adapter plugged into the dock.

Your dock LED will flash green during the update. When the update is complete, your headset will make a sound.

If the dock status LED color is fast flashing (one flash per 0.1 seconds) amber and green, that means the update failed. This should not be confused with slower flashing (one flash per 0.5 seconds) which indicates an issue with docking or battery installation.

To fix a failed update:

Find a dull, pointed object.
Flip the charging dock over
Use the point of your object to press the reset button while inserting the power adapter cable back into the dock's USB-C port.

Meta Quest Pro compact charging dock

In addition to the charging dock and wall charger you received in your Meta Quest Pro box, a Meta Quest Pro Compact Charging Dock can be purchased as an add on accessory. This 2-in-1 dock charges your Meta Quest Pro controllers and Meta Quest Pro headset with a 45W universal power adapter connected to the compact puck shaped dock with the USB-C cable connected to the headset, which sits next to the dock. The charger’s compact design was meant to make it easy to have your charger with you wherever you go.
