Multiple factors affect battery life and recharge cycles, including device settings and use. Battery life claims herein are based on factors including, but not limited to, setting configuration, screen brightness, volume level, network connection, and usage; actual results may vary. The battery has limited recharge cycles and may eventually need to be replaced. Battery tests detailed below were conducted in November 2022 using pre-production Meta Quest Pro units and production software version V46.
Default settings were used in tests, except brightness set to 70% and volume to 70% instead of the standard 50% to test a more power-demanding experience. The General Usage results are calculated using the weighted average of the battery life across the following apps: YouTube (6%), Beat Saber (40%), Immerse VR (16%), and Horizon Workrooms (38%).
Default settings were used in tests, except: Brightness at 70% and volume at 70%, instead of the standard 50% for a more power-demanding experience. To test battery life when watching media, a high-definition video 2 hours in length was repeatedly streamed on YouTube at a full screen until the battery was depleted.
Default settings were used in tests, except: Brightness at 70% and volume at 70%, instead of the standard 50% for a more power-demanding experience. Battery life when gaming was tested using the app Beat Saber. We launched the app as a “Solo” and in “No fail” mode, selecting each song from the “Original Soundtrack Vol. 1” in “Expert Difficulty” and playing each song in the same order until the battery was depleted.
All settings were default, except: Brightness at 70% and volume at 70%, instead of the standard 50% for a more power demanding experience. To test battery life while engaging in productivity activities, the app Immersed was used. The app was launched with a single screen with full passthrough with color settings enabled. Typical office productivity tasks were performed until the battery was depleted.
