Set time limits for Meta Horizon and schedule breaks with Supervision
With Supervision, you can limit how much time your child or teen (aged 10+, age may vary by region) spends on Meta Quest, or Meta Horizon across Meta Quest, mobile app and web browser, and set break schedules.
You can create and manage time limits and schedule breaks from Family Center on the web or from the Meta Horizon mobile app. To ensure time limits and breaks work, ensure the Meta Quest headset software has been updated to the latest version.
Setting time limits
You can set a daily time limit to limit the total amount of time your child can use the Meta Horizon OS on Meta Quest and play worlds across all devices. You can also customize the time limit for different days of the week.
When you create or change a daily time limit, your child or teen will receive a notification. Your child will be able to view the time limits on the Family Center website and the Meta Horizon mobile app.
When your child reaches the day’s time limit, they will receive a notification. If using their Meta Quest, their device will restart. They will be unable to use the headset or mobile app for the rest of the day.
Scheduling breaks
You can also schedule breaks. This lets you create blocks of time during the day when your child cannot use the headset.
To manage time limits and breaks:
- Go to Family Center and log in.
- Select the account you want to manage time limits and breaks for.
- Select Manage time limits.
