How to use headphones with Meta Quest

Meta Quest 3 supports both 3.5mm headphones, as well as USB-C headphones. To use standard headphones with a 3.5mm jack, plug the headphones into the audio port located on the left side of your headset (when facing the way you would wear it). To use USB-C headphones with Meta Quest 3 plug the USB cable into the charging port located on the left side of the headset, just behind the standard audio port.

Keep in mind, if you plug in two sets of headphones, only the headphones plugged into the 3.5mm audio port will work. USB-C headphones also won't work if the Elite Strap with Battery is plugged in.

You can also use Bluetooth headphones with your Meta Quest 3.

Meta Quest 3 supported USB-C headphones and adapters

The following list of USB-C headphones and adapters have been tested and shown to work with Meta Quest 3.

USB-C headphones

  • Pixel USB-C Earbuds
  • Samsung Type-C Headphones
  • OnePlus Type-C Bullets Earphones

USB-C to 3.5mm adapters

  • Google USB-C to 3.5mm Adapter
  • Samsung USB-C Headphone Jack Adapter
  • Apple USB-C to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter

Keep in mind, other USB-C headphones and adapters may work with your Meta Quest 3, but we can't guarantee functionality for headphones or adapters that aren't in the list above. USB-C headphones also won't work if the Elite Strap with Battery is plugged in.

Headset microphones are not currently compatible with Meta Quest 3 using the 3.5mm jack.
