Use chat on Meta Quest
Chat lets you send text messages to other users through the Meta Horizon OS on Meta Quest. When someone sends you a message, you'll see it on Meta Quest and in the Meta Horizon mobile app.
You can receive messages from someone who you’re not following but their message will appear as a message request. You can choose to approve or block the request.
Alternatively, you can voice chat by either starting a call or joining a group.
To chat on Meta Quest:
- Press
Meta button or
Oculus button on your right controller to open the universal menu.
- Select
Chats.
- Select the person or group you would like to chat with.
To delete chat history:
- Press
Meta button or
Oculus button on your right Touch controller to open the universal menu.
- Select
Chats.
- Find and select the person to open the chat you have with them.
- With their chat open, select
Options next to their name.
- Select Delete chat history, then select Delete to confirm you want to delete this chat history.
Note: If you’re 10-12 years old (age may vary by region) with a Meta account that's managed by your parent or guardian, your parent must add someone as an approved contact before you can chat with them. You can only participate in one-on-one chats, and you can’t send images or videos.
