Someone in my group is bothering me on Meta Quest
We want to create a safe and respectful VR environment for everyone in our community. If someone in your group is making you feel uncomfortable, you have a few options. First, follow these instructions:
- From within a group, select
to view members.
- Select
next to the name of the person who is bothering you.
You can then take the following actions.
Block a user
Blocking a member of your group will hide your information (profile, name, etc.) and will prevent the user from seeing any future group invites that you create in their Activities tab.
It will not remove the user from the active activity, but their microphone input will be muted to you and your microphone will be muted to them, so neither of you will hear each other.
Someone who you’ve blocked can join a group if another group member invites them back, or if they’re already friends with another group member and join through that person’s profile card.
To avoid having a blocked user rejoin your current group, in addition to blocking them, group leaders can select Remove User to remove the user from your current activity. Only group leaders can remove someone from a group. Learn about managing group features and settings.
Report a user
Reporting a member of your group will allow you to create a report explaining what happened in your group. The report will be sent to our operations team for review.
When you submit your report, you’ll get an email acknowledging that the report was received. If the operations team determines that the actions detailed in your report violated the Code of Conduct for Virtual Experiences, you’ll get another email to let you know that your report has been actioned on.
After you send your report, you can also choose to block the group member, and the group leader can remove them from the current activity.
You can also report a user by selecting next to the group’s name, then selecting Report group. Follow the on-screen instructions to report someone in the group.
Remove a user (group leader only)
Group leaders can remove a member of the group. Removed group members can't return to the same group or to that group leader’s Home.
