You can make and receive calls with people and with groups on both Meta Quest devices and the Meta Horizon mobile app. You can only start calls with someone you're connected to.
Note: If you’re 10-12 years old (age may vary by region) with a Meta account that's managed by your parent or guardian, your parent must add someone as an approved contact before you can call them. You can only participate in one-on-one calls.
To make calls on Meta Quest:
You can also call a person or a group by visiting their profile and selecting Start a call, or by selecting Call next to their name.
To leave a call, select Leave.
For group calls, as group members join the call, their profile picture will appear in the Group call panel. Up to 8 people can join a group call.

To make calls on the Meta Horizon app:
When captions for calls are turned on, you’ll see a live transcript of other people’s words and sounds in a dedicated window. Captions are only provided in English and only apply to calls made using the People app on Meta Quest devices.

Note: When you turn on captions, other people on your calls will receive a notification letting them know that their audio is being used to provide captions. Captions are not available when making calls using the Meta Horizon app.
