Extra teen supervision features available for Meta Horizon in some regions
Parents and guardians of teens under 18 can set up supervision to help teens balance their time and provide support. The supervision features we provide are optional—parents or teens can invite each other to set them up and either can remove them at any time.
For a parent to set up supervision, you must be 18 or older, both you and your teen must agree to participate in supervision, and the teen you are supervising must be 13-17 years old, depending on where they live.
In some regions, parents can set up extra supervision features for Meta Horizon. Parents can request to set up these features if their teen lives in one of these regions and meets relevant age requirements. Only parents can remove these features until a teen turns 18 (or the relevant age in their region), at which point they’ll automatically be removed.
Setting up extra supervision features
If your teen lives in one of the regions listed below, and they meet age requirements, you can set up extra supervision features by clicking the link under the relevant region. You’ll need your own Meta profile to set up these features for your teen.
You’ll be asked to verify your identity before you can set up extra supervision features. To do this, we’ll ask you to upload a valid government ID, or 2 forms of non-government IDs. Confirming your identity may take up to 48 hours.
Once we’ve confirmed your identity, your teen will be asked to confirm that you’re their parent or guardian before features are set up. If your teen doesn’t confirm that you’re their parent or guardian, or they don’t respond within 7 days, you can invite them again. If your teen remains unresponsive or doesn’t confirm, you can set up supervision features by providing us with more information like their birth certificate.
Using another Meta app to supervise on Meta Horizon
You can use some other Meta apps (Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, Threads or Meta Horizon) to supervise your teen's Meta Horizon profile. When setting up, you'll choose which app you'd like to receive notifications on. You can still use the other apps to manage supervision.
If you want to set up extra supervision for your teen’s profile on another Meta app, go to that app's Help Center article for instructions:

Setting up other supervision features

Removing supervision
Parents can remove supervision at any time. If you’ve added extra supervision features, all features will be removed when you remove supervision. Extra supervision features provided in your region will automatically be removed when your teen turns 18 (or the relevant age in your region).
If your teen moves out of that region, we’ll remove extra supervision features. You’ll still be able to supervise your teen by seeing insights into their activity, setting time limits and more. We'll notify you of any changes if this happens.
