Meta Horizon followers

On Meta Quest devices, if you’re 13 years or older and you follow someone and they follow you back, you can do things like:

  • Chat
  • Create or join a group
  • Invite to your Meta Horizon Home
  • Ask to join them in the app or destination they’re currently in

Depending on your profile setting, your followers or the public can see your app activity. You can hide activity for specific apps at any time. You can also see the Active Status of people you follow, no matter what your Active Status setting is. Learn more about your privacy settings.

You can remove someone as a follower or block someone at any time. If you no longer follow each other, you won't be able to use some social features (example: invitations to groups). People won't be notified when you unfollow or block them.

Profile settings and followers

If you have a public profile:

  • Anyone can see who you follow and who follows you.
  • Anyone can follow you without your approval.

If you have a private profile:

  • Only your followers can see who you’re following and who follows you.
  • Anyone can request to follow you but you'll need to manually approve each request before they can see more details about you (like your followers and following list).

Followers for 10-12 year olds

If you’re 10-12 years old (age may vary by region) with a Meta account that's managed by your parent or guardian, you can:

  • Follow people and have followers.
    • If your Active Status is set to joinable, then your followers can join you in Meta Horizon Worlds. Note: Your parent needs to approve Horizon Worlds before you can use it.
  • Your parent must add someone as an approved contact before they can chat with, call, and invite or join you in a parent-approved app or destination outside of Horizon Worlds.
