Learn about Spatial Anchors on Meta Quest headsets

Spatial Anchors are world-locked frames of reference that represent points of interest. They enable developers to build applications where you can place virtual content in physical space that can be persisted between sessions. For example, if you were to place a virtual whiteboard in your space while using a productivity app, the developer can use a Spatial Anchor to remember where you placed it. With this Spatial Anchor, the virtual whiteboard will appear where you left it when you resume the application so you can quickly jump back in.

Apps cannot access raw images or raw videos of your physical environment through Spatial Anchors.
