About Meta Horizon profile restrictions and suspensions

We’re gradually updating Accounts Center, which will enable your Meta Account to work across more products, if you choose. You may see either Accounts Center or Meta Account settings as the place to manage your settings. Learn more about updated Meta Accounts.

If you receive a notification that your Meta Horizon profile is restricted, this means we reviewed a report about your profile or content you created. We found that your profile or the content you created violates the Code of Conduct for Virtual Experiences or our Terms of Service.

If you violate the Code of Conduct for Virtual Experiences, we may take action against your profile. This can include temporary restrictions on social features like chats, groups and calls. Serious violations can lead to profile suspension.

What Meta Horizon profile restrictions mean

Our safety specialists review the reported evidence. Depending on the severity of your violation, you may receive a strike. If you violate the code of conduct again, you can get more strikes. Your first strike will result in an email warning. Additional violations will temporarily restrict your access to some features including chats, groups, calls and access to Meta Horizon Worlds.

How to view your Meta Horizon profile status in your headset

You can view your profile status details, any restrictions on your profile, and your reports about others in Safety Center.

Put on your headset, then press Oculus button / Meta button on your controller to open the Navigator.
Select Settings.
Select Privacy & safety, then select Safety Center.

How to view your Meta Horizon profile status on the web

You can also view this information on the web.

Go to meta.com in a browser and log in.
Select your profile photo.
Select Meta Horizon profile settings.
Select Profile.

Submit an appeal for action taken against your profile or world

Submit a review request to Meta if you believe we restricted your profile or world by mistake. Use the link in the warning or suspension email sent to you from Meta.

About Meta Horizon profile suspensions

For severe or repeated violations, we may also suspend your profile and your account. When your Meta Horizon profile is suspended, you won’t have access to your apps and in-app purchases on your Meta Quest or the Meta Horizon mobile app, and you won't be able to log in to or use your account, including Meta Horizon Worlds.

Request a review by email if you believe we suspended your profile by mistake. If you miss the appeals deadline, we may permanently disable your account.
