Record video on Horizon OS and Meta Quest
To record a video of what you see in your headset:
- Press the
Meta button or
Oculus button on your right Touch controller to open your universal menu.
- Select Camera, then select Record video.
A red dot will appear in your headset to indicate that recording has started. This video capture indicator can be controlled from Settings.
To stop recording:
- Press the
- Select Camera, then select Recording.
You can view and manage videos that you've taken in Files (under the Media or Recents folder), or in the Gallery app.

You can start and stop recording using just your controller. Start by holding the
To stop recording, you can use the Camera app or repeat the controller shortcut above.
Tip: If you hold the Meta button for too long it will recenter your view, so make sure to press the trigger before recentering completes.
