How to send app access requests to your parent or guardian
To download an app that’s rated above your current age, you can request access from your parent or guardian.
You’ll be able to use the app as long as you stay connected to your parent’s account.
Send an app access request to your parent
- Find the app that you want to purchase or download in the Meta Horizon Store.
- Select the price to try and purchase or download the app.
- If the app’s content rating is above your age, you’ll see a message that you can’t use that app right now. You’ll have the option of sending a request to your parent to allow access to the app.
- After you send the request, you should see a confirmation that your request has been sent. You’ll also see a notification in your headset.
- If your parent approves your app access request, you’ll get a notification letting you know that your request was approved, and you can now purchase or download the app.
If your parent denies your app download request, you can request it again. However, your parent can deny your request again.
Additional notes
If you decide not to have a parent support your account through parental supervision, you can’t download or purchase apps in the Meta Horizon Store with a content rating above your current age.
If you decide to stop using parental supervision tools and disconnect from your parent, you will lose access to any previously-approved apps if their content rating is still above your current age.
Any apps rated above your age that you purchased or downloaded before the launch of parental supervision tools will be accessible from your library.
