Take a photo on Horizon OS and Meta Quest

To take a photo of what you see in your headset:

  1. Press Meta button or Oculus button on your right controller to open the Navigator.
  2. Select Camera, then select Take photo.

A blinking red dot will appear in your headset to indicate that a photo is being taken. Once the photo has been taken, you can select the notification that will appear to view your photo. You can also view and manage photos that you've taken in Files (under the Media or Recents folder), or in the Gallery app.


Controller shortcut

You can take a photo using just your controller. Start by holding the Meta button or Oculus button on the right controller. While holding, press and release the right trigger to immediately take a photo of what you’re seeing.

Remote play

Tip: If you hold the Meta button for too long it will recenter your view, so make sure to press the trigger before recentering completes.


Additional camera settings

To open the full range of camera options:

  1. Press Meta button or Oculus button on your right controller to open the Navigator.
  2. Select Camera, then select Camera settings.
