Access accessibility settings during headset setup

To access accessibility settings during headset setup (after the initial update), triple press the Meta button on your right controller. You’ll then be able to change your vision, mobility or hearing settings. These settings can also be changed at any time after headset setup in the Settings app.


Adjust height

With Adjust Height, people can adjust their height within the virtual environment, providing a more comfortable and personalized experience.

To turn on Adjust Height:

  1. Press Meta button or Oculus button on your right controller to open the Navigator.
  2. Select Quick controls.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Accessibility.
  5. Select Mobility then turn on Adjust Height.

Adjust audio balance

With the audio balance setting, you can adjust the audio level coming from the left and right speaker.

To adjust your audio balance:

  1. Press Meta button or Oculus button on your right controller to open the Navigator.
  2. Select Quick controls.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Accessibility.
  5. Select Hearing then adjust the slider to a level that you prefer.

Manage color correction

Color correction provides people with filters to adjust how they view their virtual environment.

To adjust the color used in your headset:

  1. Press Meta button or Oculus button on your right controller to open the Navigator.
  2. Select Quick controls.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Accessibility.
  5. Select Vision then turn on Color Correction and choose your color filter.

Use text to speech

Text to speech on Meta Quest can support blind and low vision accessibility, as well as improving the experience for anyone who has difficulty reading or comprehending text that is displayed on a screen. Find out more about text to speech on Meta Quest.


Use screen reader

Adjust display contrast

Display contrast provides people with the ability to have a high-contrast and bolder visual experience.

To adjust your display contrast:

  1. Press Meta button or Oculus button on your right controller to open the Navigator.
  2. Select Quick controls.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Accessibility.
  5. Select Vision then move the Contrast slider to a level that you prefer.

Turn on live captions

Live captions let you see a text version of what people are saying. Captions are available in several languages and work in supported apps.

To turn on live captions:

  1. Press Meta button or Oculus button on your right controller to open the Navigator.
  2. Select Quick controls.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Accessibility.
  5. Select Hearing then turn on Live Captions.

Turn on mono audio

Mono audio lets you combine audio channels from stereo into one source.

To turn on mono audio:

  1. Press Meta button or Oculus button on your right controller to open the Navigator.
  2. Select Quick controls.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Accessibility.
  5. Select Hearing then turn on Mono Audio.

Re-map controller buttons

Re-mapping the controller lets you create different button configurations that work best for you, including changing buttons from one controller to another.

To re-map your controller buttons:

  1. Press Meta button or Oculus button on your right controller to open the Navigator.
  2. Select Quick controls.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Accessibility.
  5. Select Mobility then select Re-map controller.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish re-mapping your controllers.

Adjust text size

Changing your text size allows you to adjust the size for the universal menu and supported apps.

To adjust your text size:

  1. Press Meta button or Oculus button on your right controller to open the Navigator.
  2. Select Quick controls.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Accessibility.
  5. Select Vision then select the dropdown next to Text Size and choose the size you prefer.

Perform thumbstick calibration

Thumbstick calibration allows you to have accurate and precise control over your thumbsticks and how you interact with your virtual environment.

To calibrate your thumbsticks:

  1. Press Meta button or Oculus button on your right controller to open the Navigator.
  2. Select Quick controls.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Devices.
  5. Select Controllers and then select Calibrate Left or Calibrate Right.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the thumbstick calibration process.
