Get teens started with supervision for Meta Horizon
We want to respect your privacy and autonomy while also helping you have a positive experience with Meta Quest and Meta Horizon. When supervision features are enabled, you’ll see exactly what’s shared with your parent or guardian, as well as which features they’ve disabled.
Basic requirements
- The Meta Horizon mobile app or the Family Center on the web. You can download the Meta Horizon mobile app for free onto your phone using the links below:
- A Meta account. This is what you’ll use to log into the Meta Horizon mobile app or Family Center on web in order to use supervision. If you don’t currently have a Meta account, you can create one from the Meta Horizon mobile app or on the web at auth.meta.com.
- A Meta Quest headset.
- An invite from you or your parent from Family Center. Or, an invite from you on the Meta Horizon mobile app.
- Your agreement: Both you and your parent need to agree to set up supervision. You or your parent can turn off supervision at any time.
Account requirements
In addition to the requirements outlined above, there are some additional requirements for both your account and your parent’s account:
- You must have, and your parent may need to have, a Meta account. We require people to be at least 10 years old to sign up for a Meta account.
- If someone is between 10 and 12 years old (age may vary by region), then their parent or guardian must create and manage the account for them.
- Teens can only have one parent or guardian supporting their account.
- Parents can support up to 5 accounts.
- Parents must be at least 18 years old.
- Parents and teens cannot use supervision if one account has blocked the other.
- Neither you nor your parent’s account can be disabled, deactivated or deleted.
Note: Once supervision is set up, anyone else your parent supervises will be able to see you in Family Center, and you’ll be able to see them.
