With Meta Quest, you can livestream to YouTube and see your YouTube live chats in your headset. This feature requires casting from your headset to a desktop and using a stream companion desktop software such as OBS (Open Broadcasting Software) in order to livestream to YouTube. Keep in mind, this feature is available for public livestreams only and will not work for private or unlisted streams.

To livestream from Meta Quest to YouTube using OBS:

  1. Press Meta button or Oculus button on your right controller to open the Navigator.
  2. Select Camera.
  3. Select Live.
  4. Select Cast to browser + YouTube chat, then select Continue.
  5. Enter your YouTube channel handle and choose where you want your chat to appear in your headset, then select Continue.
  6. From your desktop, open a web browser and go to oculus.com/casting.
  7. Launch OBS.
  8. Integrate the web browser video into OBS. This will allow OBS to capture the video feed from your Meta Quest headset.
  9. Log in to OBS using your YouTube credentials.
  10. Click Start Streaming in OBS to go live on YouTube.
