You can pair and unpair your Touch controllers using the Meta Horizon mobile app. This process is the same for all types of Touch controllers. It is not possible to pair controllers without using the Meta Horizon mobile app.

To pair your Touch controllers:

  1. Make sure your headset is turned on, then open the Meta Horizon mobile app on your phone.
  2. On your phone, open the Meta Horizon app.
  3. Tap Menu at the top of your Horizon Feed.
  4. Tap Devices.
  5. Select the headset you want to pair controllers to.
  6. Tap Headset settings, then tap Controllers.
  7. Tap Pair New Controller.
  8. Choose which controller you'd like to pair.
  9. Press and hold the Meta button / Oculus button and B button on your right controller or Menu button and Y button on your left controller until the controller LED blinks and then lights up to finalize the pairing.

Once you've paired your controllers, the controllers will automatically connect to your headset each time you turn it on, if it's nearby.

To unpair your controllers:

  1. Make sure your headset is turned on, then open the Meta Horizon mobile app on your phone.
  2. On your phone, open the Meta Horizon app.
  3. Tap Menu at the top of your Horizon Feed.
  4. Tap Devices.
  5. Select the headset you want to unpair controllers from.
  6. Tap Headset settings, then tap Controllers.
  7. Tap the controller that you want to unpair, then tap Unpair Controller.

Additional information

If you’re having issues pairing your Touch Controllers to your Meta Quest:

  • Make sure the tabs have been removed from both controller housings.
  • Change or reseat the battery of your controllers and check that the controller is receiving power.
  • Check your phone’s app store and make sure the Meta Quest app is up to date.
  • Make sure bluetooth is enabled on your phone, and that your phone and headset are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Your device must be on and unlocked to pair a controller. If you have a passcode but can't use a controller, use the white dot in the center of your headset's view and volume buttons to enter your passcode.

If you're using unsupported third party controller accessories, such as sleeves, covers, or stickers, you may experience issues with controller pairing or tracking. If this happens, we recommend removing the unsupported accessory to see if that resolves the issue.

Warranty replacement headsets

When you set up a warranty replacement Meta Quest headset, your existing controllers won’t automatically pair with the headset. You will need to use gaze functionality to complete the setup, which involves moving your head to navigate menus in the headset.
