Use Personal Boundary in Meta Horizon Worlds
Personal Boundary is an invisible barrier that surrounds your avatar to keep people from getting too close. Personal Boundary prevents avatars from coming within a 4-foot distance of each other, creating more space for people and making it easier to avoid unwanted interactions.
A player can choose from three options for more customized controls, so they can decide how they want to interact in their VR experiences:
- On for People You’re Not Following: the default setting for all users. Personal Boundary is set to a roughly 4-foot distance between your avatar and those of anyone not on your followers list.
- On for Everyone: Personal Boundary is set to a roughly 4-foot distance between your avatar and any other avatars.
- Off: The roughly 4-foot Personal Boundary is off, but we will still provide a small personal boundary to prevent unwanted interactions.
When two people meet, Personal Boundary will default to the more restrictive setting. For example, if your Personal Boundary is ‘Off’ but the avatar you’re interacting with has Personal Boundary set to ‘On for Everyone,’ there will be a roughly 4-foot distance between you.
You can manage your Personal Boundary from the Safety tab in Settings.
