Safety and privacy tools available for teens in Meta Horizon Worlds

We have a few safety and privacy tools we built to help you feel in control of who you see and talk to in Meta Horizon Worlds.

• Meta Horizon profile privacy settings: You are in control of who you follow and who can follow you back. Your profile is automatically set to private, so you’re able to approve or decline anyone who requests to follow you. You can adjust your Meta Horizon profile privacy settings at any time.
• Active status settings: By default, we won’t show your active status and Meta Horizon Worlds location to other people in Worlds. You’ll be able to choose whether your connections can see if you’re active online and which public world or event you’re in. You can adjust this setting at any time, so you are in control of how social you want to be.
• Voice mode transforms your voice and the voices of people you don’t know into friendly, unintelligible sounds, giving you more control over who can communicate with you. This setting is automatically turned on for teens. You’ll still be able to hear community guides and people you know, and they’ll be able to hear you, too. You can adjust this setting at any time.
• Personal boundary sets an invisible bubble around your avatar so people you don’t know can’t get too close. For all players, including teens, this setting is on by default.
• Blurred chats gives your teen more control over whether people they don’t know can see their messages. When blurred chats is turned on, messages from people your teen doesn’t know will appear blurred. Your teen’s messages will appear blurred to them, too.
• World chat filter lets you control what kind of words or phrases you can see in world chat. When it’s on, words that might be upsetting or offensive are automatically hidden. World chat filter is automatically turned on for all players, including teens.
• Pause lets you quickly take a break from a situation or space.
• Reporting, blocking and muting helps protect you from anyone who makes you uncomfortable.
• Turning off the microphone prevents anyone from hearing you in Meta Horizon Worlds.
