How you can support your child or teen in Meta Horizon Worlds
Because Meta Horizon Worlds is an interactive space, we have specific rules and policies in place to help keep everyone safe. Our Code of Conduct for Virtual Experiences outlines what creators, admins and world visitors are responsible for and gives examples of what kinds of behavior don't match our values. We encourage you to talk to your teen about our policies and for your teen to report anyone who you believe is not following them.
We encourage families to set up parental supervision. To get started, your teen must invite you to connect to their account through the Meta Quest app or through Family Center. Both you and your teen can also invite each other to connect through Family Center. Once you’ve connected, you can see, change and lock safety settings in Meta Horizon Worlds, see how much time your teen has spent there in the last 7 days, or block the app if you don’t want them to use it.
We encourage you to talk with your child or teen about muting, reporting or blocking anyone who makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe. When teens block someone in Meta Horizon Worlds, that person can no longer follow them, invite them to a game or party or search for them. They won't be able to contact them through other social features on Meta Quest either. Parents and teens can learn more about our efforts to support age-appropriate experiences for teens in Meta Horizon Worlds via our Family Center and Family Center for Meta Horizon Worlds.
