Capture photos and videos with Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses
You can capture media using the capture button on your glasses frame or by using voice controls. When you take a photo or video, the capture LED will activate to indicate to those around you that you may be recording. The camera on your glasses automatically adjusts to your environment for consistently high-quality photo and video captures.
Media you capture with Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses must be imported to the Meta View app before you can view or share it. Your glasses must be connected to the Meta View app in order to import media.
Media is automatically saved to your phone’s camera roll after importing. Learn more about sharing media with the Meta View app.
Capture button
- To take a photo press the capture button. The white notification LED will blink and make a sound during the capture.
- To record a video press and hold the capture button. Press again to stop recording. The white notification LED will stay on while you're recording.
Voice controls
When voice controls are turned on and the wake word is enabled, you can use your voice to take a photo or video.
- Say "Hey Meta, take a photo" to take a photo.
- Say "Hey Meta, take a video" to start recording a video.
- Say "Hey Meta, stop" to stop recording a video.

File format
Your glasses capture media in the following formats:
- JPEG photo
- MP4 video
Video length
The default video length is 60 seconds, but it can be shortened to 15 seconds or 30 seconds or extended to 3 minutes from the Meta View app.
To change the default video length:
- From the Meta View app, tap in the bottom right.
- Tap Camera, or tap your glasses then tap Camera.
- Tap Video length.
- Tap the video length setting you want.
