Use Spotify Tap on Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses
You can stream Spotify from your phone to your smart glasses and control audio playback and volume using the touchpad on your glasses by turning on Spotify Tap.
To turn on Spotify Tap:
When using Spotify Tap or streaming audio on your glasses, you can use the touchpad on the right temple of your glasses to control audio playback and adjust volume:
You can use the following gestures to control audio playback and volume on your glasses touchpad:
- Tap once to pause or play audio.
- Double tap to skip forward.
- Triple tap to skip back.
- Swipe forward to turn the volume up.
- Swipe back to turn the volume down.
When you close your glasses, audio streaming will pause. When you reopen the glasses, they will reconnect to your audio source via Bluetooth.
Note: If you are using a free Spotify account, your use of Spotify Tap will be limited. Only premium Spotify accounts will experience unlimited Spotify Tap.
Known issues with Spotify Tap
Spotify Tap only works with users on Android OS 13.0 or higher with the July 2023 security patch. The Spotify app must be downloaded and logged in on your device. Please ensure your apps and system are updated to the most current version.
If you are having issues using Spotify Tap on Android, here a few things you can check:
- Make sure that your Spotify app is open (or in the background) and logged in to use Spotify.
- Confirm the Spotify app has Permissions set to Nearby Devices in your Android phone Settings (Android 12 and above).
- Confirm the Spotify app Battery setting in your Android phone Settings is set to Unrestricted.
If you continue to have issues with Spotify Tap on Android or iOS, make sure the tap and hold gesture on your touchpad is set to Spotify Tap in your Meta View app settings.
To set the tap and hold gesture to Spotify Tap:
- From the Meta View app, tap
- Tap Glasses & privacy, or tap your glasses then tap Glasses & privacy.
- Tap Your glasses.
- Tap Gestures.
- Tap Touchpad.
- Tap Spotify Tap below Tap and hold.
