Billing and payments for subscriptions from Meta

Updated:4 weeks ago

Subscriptions from Meta are being gradually introduced. Some subscriptions may not be available to you yet.

This article explains how billing, payments, and cancellations work for subscriptions purchased from Meta, such as Meta One, Meta Verified for creators and businesses, Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus, and Muse.

Subscription billing cycles and automatic renewals

Your subscription from Meta renews automatically each month unless you cancel your subscription. You're charged on the same date each month as your original purchase date.

For example, if you subscribed on January 15, you're charged again on February 15, March 15, and so on.

Note: If your billing date falls on a day that doesn't exist in a given month (for example, the 31st in a 30-day month), you’re charged on the last day of that month instead.

Accepted payment methods for subscriptions

The payment methods you can use for subscriptions depend on where you subscribe:

Your subscription is linked to the platform, device type, and account you used to subscribe. You need to manage billing and payments through the same platform and account.

Update your subscription payment method

To update the payment method for your subscription, go to the store where you originally subscribed:

You must have at least one valid payment method on file to keep your subscription active. Payment method changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

Note: Add a backup payment method to your account. If your default payment fails, your backup method is charged automatically. If you don't have a backup and your payment fails, you may get a short grace period to fix the issue before your subscription is canceled.

View your subscription payment history

To check your subscription payment history, including the payment amount, date, and status, go to the store where you originally subscribed:

Note: Make sure you're signed into the same Apple or Google account you used for your original subscription purchase. If you use a different account, you won't see your subscription or payment history.

Cancel your subscription

Subscriptions renew automatically each month unless you cancel. If you cancel, your subscription stays active until the end of your billing cycle. After that, you lose access to all subscription benefits.

If you purchased a subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, follow that store’s cancellation process. To avoid being charged for another billing cycle, cancel your subscription before your current billing period ends.
