Getting the right fit
Getting the right fit
WARNING
To reduce risk of discomfort, the accessory should fit properly. Avoid over-tightening. When properly adjusted, the headset should fit comfortably without too much pressure on your face. You should also see a single, clear image. Re-check fit before each use to avoid unintended changes to fit.
- Residents of France: Keep radio-electronic equipment away from the stomachs of pregnant women and the abdomens of adolescents. Children and teenagers should use radio-electronic equipment sparingly. Use radio-electronic equipment in good reception conditions to reduce the amount of radiation received.
Children's use
WARNING
Not recommended for use by younger or smaller-sized children if the accessory does not fit properly. Not a toy. Injuries and negative effects, including muscle strain, may result from children's use. Adults should make sure that children who use the accessory follow warnings and instructions.
Adjusting the fit
Your accessory consists of the side straps that can be adjusted using the adjustment wheel, and a top strap that can be adjusted using the self-fastener.
- Use the adjustment wheel at the back of the accessory to tighten or loosen.
- To adjust the top strap, separate the self-fastener and pull up to increase the support of the headset's weight until the weight on your cheeks has reduced, then secure the top strap.
- The weight of the headset should be equally distributed between the forehead and cheeks. The headset should rest lightly on the skin but should not compress the skin. See meta.com/help/quest/fit for help on how to avoid too much facial pressure.
When fitting the headset on someone else (e.g. your child), it may be helpful for them to sit as they hold the headset with both hands. Follow the instructions above and check in with them on fit and comfort.
Discomfort and skin irritation
WARNING
Stop use if pressure, chafing, itching, irritation, lasting changes in skin appearance, swelling, unusual hair loss or other skin discomfort arises. Don't resume until you have fully recovered from discomfort or other symptoms.
- Check fit and cleanliness as symptoms may resolve after adjusting/cleaning. Stop use and consult a doctor if symptoms continue. Pre-existing conditions such as acne, rosacea and melasma may appear or worsen with use. See Adjusting the fit. See meta.com/help/quest/cleaning.
- Some temporary changes such as colour change (redness or darkening) or indentation are normal when they resolve quickly. Make sure that you fit your accessory properly and avoid over-tightening. If discomfort or other symptoms continue for a prolonged period or are serious after you stop use, seek medical assistance and don't resume use until they say it's OK. See Adjusting the fit.
- Extended use without adequate breaks may increase risk of discomfort, injury and adverse effects. Stop use if you feel discomfort and don't use again until discomfort is gone.
