WARNING
Always read and follow all warnings and instructions provided with any apps, content, or accessories that you use with your Product. Failure to do so may result in personal injury or property damage.
WARNING
Your Product may not work reliably under all conditions, including when outside factors like wireless connectivity are compromised. It should not be used for critical or life-saving activities.
Your Product includes the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, authorized charging case, charging cable, apps, and accessories.

Children’s use

WARNING
Not recommended for use by younger or smaller-sized children or if the Product does not fit properly. Not a toy. Injuries and negative effects, including eye strain, may result from children’s use. Adults should make sure children who use the Product follow these warnings and instructions. See Getting the right fit

Pre-existing medical conditions

WARNING
Seizure risk. Content on the display may include flashes of light or patterns that may trigger seizures or other symptoms. Immediately stop use and seek medical assistance if you experience severe dizziness, seizures, eye or muscle twitching, or black out while using the Product. Consult a healthcare professional before use if you previously have had a seizure, loss of awareness or other symptoms linked to an epileptic condition.
Seizures. Some people (about 1 in 4,000) may experience severe dizziness, seizures, eye or muscle twitching, or blackouts triggered by light flashes or patterns. These symptoms may occur while watching TV, playing video games, or experiencing augmented reality content, even if they have never had a seizure or blackout before or have no history of seizures or epilepsy. These symptoms are more common in children and young people.

Prescription Lenses

Prescription lenses. To avoid discomfort, injury or property damage, only the prescribed user should use the Product if it contains prescription lenses. Make sure you are using your most up-to-date prescription for far distance viewing. Do not use the Product if your vision is not clear.

Interference with medical devices and restrictions in certain places

WARNING
Magnetic components. The Product contains magnets and components that emit magnetic/electromagnetic fields which could affect the operation of nearby electronics and medical devices, including cardiac pacemakers, hearing aids and defibrillators. If you have an implanted medical device:
  • Maintain a safe distance between the medical device and the Product.
  • Consult a healthcare professional or the manufacturer of your medical device before using the Product.
  • Stop using the Product if you observe interference with your medical device.
Follow restrictions and instructions provided in certain places to limit or avoid use of radio-electronic devices (for example, in hospitals, on airplanes, or at gas stations).

Stay aware of your surroundings

WARNING
Using the Product during some activities may create safety hazards.
  • Images or content shown on the Product’s display may obscure or block your view of your surroundings, including in low visibility conditions like night, rain, or fog.
  • Interacting with the Product, including focusing on the display, may temporarily distract you or reduce your awareness of your surroundings.
  • Engaging in activities that include gestures with your hands (which could occur while wearing the Meta Neural Band or making accidental contact with the temple arm of the Product) may unintentionally turn on some features of the Product, such as waking the display, turning music on, or activating Meta AI.
Only use the Product where and when you can safely do so. To maintain your safety while using the Product, including your ability to see or respond to hazards:
  • Take precautions to reduce or eliminate hazards before and during use during potentially hazardous situations, such as:
    • Activities requiring unobstructed or undistorted vision, your full focused attention, or coordinated physical movements
    • Situations involving uneven terrain, stairs, or traffic
    • When operating a moving vehicle, such as a car or bicycle
    • When handling potentially hazardous materials or objects
  • If you cannot reduce or eliminate hazards:
    • Take off the Product, or
    • Turn off electronic functionalities of the Product, or
    • Ensure the Product is set to a volume that allows you to maintain awareness of your surroundings, or
    • Activate audio-only mode to prevent the display from turning on, or
    • Turn on driving detection to automatically turn on audio-only mode when high speed motion is detected.

WARNING
Use caution when operating a moving vehicle, such as a car or bicycle, while using the Product. Always pay attention to your surroundings, including signs and obstacles, and keep your focus on operating the vehicle. It is your responsibility to ensure your use of the Product complies with all local laws and requirements, including any laws relating to the use of mobile or electronic devices while operating a moving vehicle.
Uneven Terrain
Do not use the Product when your mental or physical state is impaired, as it may increase your susceptibility to adverse symptoms, negatively affect your motion and balance, and increase the likelihood of being distracted.

Content and apps

Content and apps may be available for use on the Product. Use caution when interacting with content and apps.
  • Walking navigation. Maps, directions, or location-based information available through the Product may be unavailable, inaccurate, or incomplete. Compare the information provided on the Product to your surroundings and defer to posted signs and directions where information on the Product and your surroundings is inconsistent. Follow all applicable traffic laws and signs. Exercise your independent judgment and apply common sense. Use walking navigation functionality for its intended purpose only. Safety glasses/protection against mechanical impact

The Product must not be used as safety glasses or protection against mechanical impact. Do not wear the Product while performing activities with increased risk of impact or falls.

Sunglass Lenses

WARNING
The Product does not block all UV rays. Do not use it to look directly at the sun or for protection from artificial UV sources (for example, tanning beds).
How to use the Product as sunglasses. Type of filter: a number and a letter can be found on the Product packaging, or on the barcode sticker, or as the last 2 characters on the temples of the glasses where the model number is. The number indicates the category of the filter (protection against sun glare 0=Very Limited, 1=Limited, 2=Good, 3=High, 4=Very High). Please see the table below. The letter indicates the type of filter (F=Photochromic). For photochromic lenses (F), if there is just one number, this refers to the lenses’ category in bright light conditions, the category being one lower in low light. If there are two numbers, these refer to the category of the lenses in bright light and low light conditions respectively.
The lenses from Category 1 to Category 4 in the table below are not suitable for driving in twilight or at night. Lenses with filter category 4 are not suitable for driving and road use. Additionally, any sunglasses identified as +NSRU are not suitable for driving and road use.

Flying restrictions

Check applicable travel and aviation security/use restrictions on personal electronics before flying with the Product.

WARNING
Stop using the Product if you feel discomfort or other symptoms during or after use. Do not resume until you have fully recovered.
  • If you experience ongoing symptoms such as eye strain or headaches while or after using the Product, stop use and do not resume until fully recovered. See Help Center for additional guidance.
  • Check cleanliness and fit as symptoms may resolve after cleaning or ensuring the right fit. Take special care if you have known skin sensitivities, allergies or pre-existing conditions.
    • Some temporary changes such as color change (redness or darkening) or indentation are normal when they resolve quickly.
  • Extended use without adequate breaks may increase risk of discomfort, injury, adverse effects. Remove the Product and stop use if you feel discomfort and do not use again until discomfort is gone.
  • If discomfort or other symptoms continue for a prolonged period or are serious after you stop use, seek medical assistance and do not resume using the Product until they say it’s okay.
Examples of discomfort or other symptoms that may prompt you to stop or not resume use include:
  • Discomfort or pain, particularly on the head, nose, eyes or ears
  • Seizures, loss of awareness or involuntary movements
  • Motion sickness, dizziness, impaired balance or impaired hand-eye coordination; unusual sweating; increased salivation; nausea; feeling faint or lightheaded
  • Eye strain, eye or muscle twitching, altered, blurred, or double vision or other visual abnormalities
  • Pressure or chafing, itching or irritation, lasting changes in skin appearance, swelling or unusual hair loss, or other skin discomfort

WARNING
To reduce risk of discomfort, the Product should fit properly. Use the size guide and fit guide available when you purchase your Product on meta.com/ai-glasses to help find the right frame size and fit. With proper fit, the Product should feel comfortable and balanced, without significant pressure in any one area. The Product should be sitting securely on your nose, and the frame or lenses should not be resting on your cheek. Do not bend the front frame or temple arms to attempt to adjust fit as they may become damaged and overheat.

WARNING
Unauthorized hardware and software or accessories: The Product is not designed for use with any unauthorized device, accessory, software or apps. Use with any of these or modifying or hacking the Product, software or apps may result in injury to you or others, discomfort, property damage, performance issues or damage to the Product that your warranty may not cover.
Accessories and replacement parts. The Meta Store may offer branded accessories/replacement parts and also authorizes accessories/replacement parts for your Product.

Do not use the Product if any part of it is broken or damaged. Contact Meta Support for assistance at meta.com/help/ai-glasses.
Device Damage

Rough handling

  • Do not heat or bend the front frame or temples as they may become damaged and overheat.
  • Do not drop, disassemble, crush, bend, deform, puncture, shred, or put a high degree of pressure on the Product as this can damage the Product and lead to injury.
  • Rough handling or improper storage could lead to fractures in the frames, lenses or the sensitive electronic parts in the Product, which could pose a risk of injury or overheating.
  • To avoid damage, take care when cleaning the lenses. See Cleaning

Temperature

WARNING
Monitor the temperature of the Product to prevent burns or discomfort.
Overheat
The Product complies with applicable limits for industry surface temperature standards. The Product may feel warm at times. This is normal while in use or while charging. See System Alerts, See Batteries, charging and electric shock
  • Prolonged skin contact with a hot surface on the Product may produce skin discomfort, redness or low-temperature burns. If the Product feels hot to the touch or is uncomfortably warm, stop using or charging and allow it to cool down.
    • If you have any special medical or physical conditions that impair the ability to detect heat against your skin, take special care when using or charging the Product. Follow any thermal warning or advisory that may appear on your Product’s screen. See System Alerts
  • Do not place the Product in areas that may get very hot, such as in a car in high temperatures. Excessive heating can damage the Product and could cause the batteries to explode. Do not dry a wet or damp Product with an appliance or heat source such as a microwave oven, hair dryer, iron or radiator. See Batteries, charging and electric shock
  • The Product is designed to operate best in temperatures between 32 to 95°F (0 to 35°C). Store the Product in its case, in a clean, dry, temperature-controlled environment between 14 to 113°F (-10 to 45°C). Doing otherwise may damage the Product and could be hazardous.

Liquids

  • The glasses are not designed to resist submersion or extended exposure to water or other liquids. In case of liquid exposure, dry the Product thoroughly and clear the charging areas of all liquid, residue or other debris.
  • Keep the charging case away from liquids. It is not water-resistant and exposure to liquids could damage the charging case or other property and lead to injury. See Cleaning

Cleaning

  • Keep all parts of the Product clean by cleaning the Product regularly. Improper cleaning can damage the Product and may impair its operation, increasing the risk of injury or property damage. Visit Help Center for cleaning instructions.

Check the Product regularly for damage

  • Regularly inspect the Product for damage—including the following parts—and do not use if you see or suspect damage to:
    • The glasses (including lenses and frame)
    • Electronic parts (including charging port and charging contacts)
    • Charging case
    • Charging cable
    • Other accessories, whether originally included with your Product or otherwise
  • WARNING
    To avoid overheating, keep the Product’s charging port and charging contacts clean, dry and free of debris.
  • Regularly check the charging port and charging contacts to ensure that they do not show signs of corrosion or damage. Stop use and contact Meta Support if corrosion/damage is visible or suspected.

Repairs

  • Contact Meta Support for assistance with repair options. Do not attempt to repair any part of the Product yourself until you have discussed with Meta Support.

Explosive atmospheres

  • Charging or using the Product in areas with a potentially explosive atmosphere may be hazardous. Examples are areas where high levels of flammable chemicals, vapors, or particles (such as dust, grain, or metal powders) may be present. Obey all posted signs and instructions.

Demagnetization

  • The charging case contains magnets. Do not place credit cards, keycards, hotel cards or parking cards directly on top of or near the charging case.

WARNING
The Product may provide alerts during use. Please follow any guidance that is provided. Take immediate action if prompted by the following system alerts:
Overheat
  • Overheating alert. A visual alert (such as the LED blinking red 4 times or notification in the Meta AI app) may indicate the Product is overheating. Immediately remove the Product and let it cool down before continuing use. See Temperature

WARNING
The Product contains rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Charge only in accordance with these warnings and provided instructions. Use of a damaged Product or improper use of a power adapter may cause a fire, explosion, battery leakage, overheating or other hazard and result in serious injury or property damage. Do not charge or use the Product if you know or suspect that any part of it is damaged. See Care and handling
If battery fluid is leaking, do not allow the liquid to contact your skin or eyes. If contact occurs, wash the affected area with large amounts of water and seek medical assistance.
  • Do not attempt to charge or use if the Product is damaged, does not turn on after attempted charging, if it gets abnormally warm when used or charged, or if the battery compartments are swollen, leaking liquid or smoking.
    • Covering the charging case while it is charging with materials that significantly affect air flow (for example, under a pillow or blanket) may affect performance or lead to injury or property damage.
  • WARNING
    To reduce risk of electric shock:
    • Do not modify or open any of the Product components or expose it or any component to water/fluid. See Care and handling
    • Do not charge the Product if any part of the authorized cable is torn, any wires are exposed, debris is present in the charging port or on the charging contacts, or the battery compartments are damaged.
    • Do not insert any metal, conductive materials, or any foreign objects into the charging port, charging contacts or charging case.
    • Only use authorized charging case and cable with the Product.
    • WARNING
      Use of a USB-C cable or adapter that is not certified to support the USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) specification—or that provides excess charge that violates the Product specifications—may damage the Product, lead to injury or impair the Product’s operation.   • Do not tamper with or attempt to open or modify the battery or the battery compartment.
  • Contact Meta Support if you need battery or power management support for the Product. See Care and handling
  • Do not dispose of the Product in a fire or incinerator, as the batteries may explode when overheated. Do not store with or dispose in general waste.

WARNING
Do not use high volume levels for prolonged periods to prevent possible permanent hearing damage. Younger children may be more susceptible to hearing damage associated with using the Product at loud levels. When covering the speakers of the Product and your ears during use (e.g., wearing a close fitting hat/helmet, or cupping hands over ears), the sound pressure could reach levels that are harmful to your hearing. Please use caution.

LED Warning
The Product is an Exempt Group LED Product. Do not attempt to disassemble the Product. Attempting modifications to the Product or LEDs may result in hazardous exposure to LED emissions.

NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. ISED Radiation Exposure Statement

This EUT is in compliance with SAR for general population/uncontrolled exposure limits in ISED RSS-102 and had been tested in accordance with the measurement methods and procedures specified in IEEE 1528 and IEC 62209.
Operation in the band 5150-5250 MHz and 5.925-7.125 GHz is only for indoor use to reduce the potential for harmful interference to co-channel mobile satellite systems. Devices shall not be used for control of or communications with unmanned aircraft systems.
