These Meta Gift Card and store credit Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your purchase and use of (a) Meta Horizon Store gift cards (“Meta Quest Gift Card”); and (b) store credits (“store credit” or “Quest cash”), including store credit provided or received for promotional purposes (“Promotional store credit” or “Promotional Quest cash”), and are between you and Meta (as defined in Section 2).

By purchasing a Meta Gift Card or store credit, by linking (or “redeeming”) a Meta Gift Card to your Meta account (your “Account”), or by using your Meta Gift Card or store credit, you agree to these Terms. We may change these Terms at any time by posting revised terms online, including at https://www.meta.com/legal/gift-cards. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Meta Horizon Store Terms, the Meta Terms of Sale, or the Content Refund Policy, these Terms shall govern as it relates to your purchase and use of Meta Gift Cards and store credit.

The “Last Updated” legend above indicates when the Terms were last changed. Any such updated terms will be effective as of the date of posting and will apply to any Meta Gift Card or store credit purchased, redeemed or used after such posting, but will not apply to previously purchased Meta Gift Cards or store credits. Any updated terms will not apply to any dispute between you and Meta arising prior to the date on which we posted the updated Terms incorporating such changes, or otherwise notified you of such changes.

Meta Gift Cards and store credit are issued and managed by Meta Platforms Technologies, LLC in the United States, and by Meta Platforms Technologies Ireland Limited (each, as applicable, “Meta”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) if you reside in the U.S. Territories (American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands), or anywhere else in the world.

To use a Meta Gift Card, you can present it for payment at any of Meta’s first-party retail stores (“Meta Lab Store”), input the Meta Gift Card number at checkout on meta.com (“MDC”) for any Hardware Purchases, or you must redeem the total value of the card for store credit by linking it to your Account. Once redeemed, the total value of the Meta Gift Card will be added to your Account (“Linked Card Balance”, and together with store credit, “Available Balance”). Once you use a Meta Gift Card at a Meta Lab Store, any remaining balance will be returned to you in the form of a Gift Card for further use at the Meta Lab Store, on MDC, or to add to your Linked Card Balance. Once you redeem a Meta Gift Card to your Account, you will no longer be able to use the physical or digital card or code.

You may use store credit solely for your personal, non-commercial use to purchase (a) apps, experiences, and in-app purchases (collectively, “Content”) from the Meta Horizon Store, and (b) eligible hardware, accessories, and third-party products sold on MDC or at a Meta Lab Store (“Hardware Purchases,” and together with Content, “Eligible Purchases”). Through the Meta Horizon Store or MDC, we may allow you to gift store credit to or request store credit from your friends and family members. Not all items on the Meta Horizon Store may be available for purchase using your store credit. Purchase and use of Content is subject to the Meta Horizon Store Terms, and additional terms and conditions may apply. Purchase and use of hardware, accessories, and third-party products are subject to the MDC Terms of Sale or, if purchased at a Meta Lab Store, the Meta Lab Terms of Sale, and additional terms and conditions may apply. You will be notified once your purchase of store credit in the Meta Horizon Store or MDC has been processed and completed.

Meta may automatically apply available Promotional store credit to your Eligible Purchases. If the purchase amount of Eligible Purchases is greater than your available Promotional store credit, you may pay for the difference using store credit or a payment method accepted by Meta. If the purchase amount exceeds your Available Balance, the remaining amount must be paid with another payment method. Your store credit cannot be used for purchases in combination with multiple credit cards.

If you wish to check your Available Balance you can review your Account wallet or contact Meta Customer Service.

Store credit availability as a payment method for Hardware Purchases may vary by product, category, and purchase channel and is currently not available at Meta Lab Stores. Not all Hardware Purchases may support store credit at checkout. For current Available Balance, please check your Account wallet on MDC.

Returns of Hardware Purchases paid for with store credit are subject to Meta’s Terms of Sale. If a Hardware Purchase is eligible for return, any store credit applied to that purchase will be refunded to your Available Balance. Refunds of amounts originally paid with a redeemed Meta Gift Card will also be returned to your Available Balance. Any remaining refund amount will be returned to your other payment method under Meta’s standard refund process.

1. Store credit

   Unless required by law, store credit is non-refundable and is not redeemable for cash; nor may store credit be exchanged, transferred, assigned, resold, or used to purchase anything other than Eligible Purchases. You may not use store credit to purchase additional store credit or gift cards of any kind. Other limits may apply to the use of store credit. Store credit is not a deposit, does not earn interest, and is not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, or any other entity or insurance scheme, whether governmental or private.

   We may impose limits on the amount of store credit that may be contained in your Account and on the amounts you are able to purchase for yourself or to gift to another user. You may not request store credit from people you do not know. Except as set forth in these Terms, store credit balances do not expire; however, store credit balances may become subject to unclaimed property laws if unused for a certain period of time, in which case Meta may be required to deduct funds from your Available Balance and submit the equivalent amount to the appropriate governing body as required by law.

   Store credit can only be used to purchase Eligible Purchases in the same currency where the store credit was purchased (or for store credit purchased in the European Union (“EU”), anywhere in the EU that uses the same currency used to purchase the store credit). Consumers in the EU, the European Economic Area (“EEA”), and the United Kingdom (“UK”) have a right to “cancel or withdraw” their purchase of the store credit for a period of 14 days from purchase (as explained in our EU/EEA/UK Consumer Right of Withdrawal Information). Store credit may be subject to additional terms and conditions that are displayed on or in connection with the Meta Gift Card. If your jurisdiction allows for a refund or cash redemption of store credit, you may contact Meta Customer Service. In certain U.S. states, you may be entitled to receive cash back for a gift card balance under a certain amount. To request a cash redemption where required by law, please contact Meta Customer Service and provide your Account information, state of residence, and remaining balance. Japan only: Store credit expires six (6) months from the date of purchase. New Zealand only: Store credit is subject to GST only at the point of redemption of digital goods.

2. Meta Gift Cards

   To use a Meta Gift Card online to purchase Eligible Purchases, you must either first redeem it to your Account as set forth in these Terms, or you may input the Meta Gift Card number at checkout on MDC for any Hardware Purchases. Meta Gift Cards can only be redeemed by Account holders ages 13+.

   Unless required by law, Meta Gift Cards are non-refundable and are not redeemable for cash; nor may Meta Gift Cards be exchanged, transferred, assigned, resold, or used for any other purpose than to redeem Meta Gift Cards. You may not use a Meta Gift Card to purchase store credit or other gift cards of any kind. Meta Gift Cards are not a deposit, do not earn interest, and are not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, or any other entity or insurance scheme, whether governmental or private.    A Meta Gift Card can only be used to purchase Eligible Purchases in the same currency where the Meta Gift Card was purchased (or for a Meta Gift Card purchased in the EU, anywhere in the EU that uses the same currency used to purchase the Meta Gift Card). Consumers in the EU, EEA and the UK have a right to “cancel or withdraw” their purchase of the Meta Gift Cards for a period of 14 days from purchase (as explained in our EU/EEA/UK Consumer Right of Withdrawal Information). Unless prohibited by law, any right to withdraw, cancel, return or otherwise receive a refund for your Meta Gift Cards is waived once you use it at a Meta Lab Store, use it for Hardware Purchases on MDC, or redeem the Meta Gift Card to your Account. Meta Gift Cards may be subject to additional terms and conditions that are displayed on or in connection with the Meta Gift Card. If your jurisdiction allows for a refund or cash redemption of a Meta Gift Card, you may contact Meta Customer Service. Japan only: Meta Gift Cards expire six (6) months from the date of purchase. New Zealand only: Meta Gift Cards are subject to GST only at the point of redemption of digital goods.

3. Game Cards

   Any Meta Gift Card for use with a specific game available on the Meta Horizon Store (“Game Card”) can only be used in the United States, subject to any terms and conditions, such as use limitations, that are displayed on or in connection with the Game Card. Once redeemed, your Account will be provided with the specific game, content or subscription access associated with the Game Card and the Game Card cannot be returned or refunded.

4. Promotional store credit

   We may provide you with Promotional store credit for promotional or other purposes. Promotional store credit may not be purchased, has no cash value, and is not redeemable for cash. Any consideration paid by you in connection with your eligibility to receive Promotional store credit is solely related to the underlying purchase. Promotional store credit cannot be applied to any previous purchase.

   Promotional store credit will expire on the expiration date expressed in connection with the promotion or at the point of issuance. If no expiration date is provided, Promotional store credit will expire twelve (12) months from the date it is posted to your Meta Horizon Store account. Upon expiration, Promotional store credit will no longer be available and will not be refunded. If you receive a refund for a purchase that was paid for in whole or in part with Promotional store credit, the Promotional store credit portion will be returned to your Account with the same expiration date it had when you used it. If that expiration date has already passed at the time we process the refund, the Promotional store credit portion is forfeited and will not be refunded in cash or other value, unless required by law.

   Promotional store credit is only issued to one (1) Meta account and may not be split among multiple accounts. Promotional store credit cannot be exchanged, transferred, assigned, or resold. Any attempt to transfer Promotional store credit will result in forfeiture of all accumulated Promotional store credit.

   Any Promotional store credit you receive is considered a limited and revocable right solely for use towards Eligible Purchases. Accordingly, you have no property, proprietary, intellectual property, ownership, or monetary interest in Promotional store credit.

5. Generally

   You agree not to use Meta Gift Cards (including Game Cards) or store credit (including any Promotional store credit) in any manner that is unlawful, misleading, deceptive, unfair, or otherwise harmful to Meta or its customers. Meta reserves the right, without notice to you, to void or deactivate Meta Gift Cards or store credit without a refund, suspend or terminate your Account, request alternative forms of payment, suspend or terminate the ability to purchase or use Eligible Purchases, cancel or limit orders, and bill alternative forms of payment if we suspect a Meta Gift Card or store credit was obtained, used, or associated with your Account unlawfully, fraudulently, or otherwise in violation of these Terms. We may require you to provide additional information to verify your identity before we allow redemption of a Meta Gift Card or use of store credit for high-value or unusual transactions, including Hardware Purchases.

When placing a pre-order for Content or initially purchasing or paying for an ongoing Subscription (as defined in the Meta Horizon Store Terms), Meta may first deduct any Promotional store credit available in your Account at the time of the payment due date (e.g., the date we confirm acceptance of your order by sending you a communication that confirms that your order has been processed and that your payment method has been charged or the Subscription payment date) to cover the cost of the payment.

You may authorize store credit as your payment method when placing a pre-order or purchasing a Subscription in accordance with the Meta Horizon Store Terms. If you have authorized the use of store credit at the time the payment method is charged, Meta will apply payment to the amount owed in the following order as each payment method is available: (1) Promotional store credit, (2) store credit, and (3) other authorized payment method. If the purchase amount exceeds your Available Balance, you will pay the remaining amount with the other authorized payment method.

When purchasing a Meta Gift Card or store credit on the Meta Horizon Store or through MDC (or any website owned and operated by Meta), you will be required to provide us with information such as your name, mailing address, and billing information. If you are purchasing a Meta Gift Card or store credit as a gift, you may also be required to provide us with recipient information. You represent and warrant that all such information is accurate, and complete and that you have the right to provide us recipient information.

To the extent that Meta Platforms Technologies processes any of your personal information for the purposes described in these Terms, Meta Platforms Ireland Limited is the data controller of any personal information collected if you reside in the European Region, and Meta Platforms, Inc. is the data controller of any personal information collected if you reside outside of the European Region. As such, we process such data as well as other data relating to your Account and any purchases made using your Meta Gift Card or store credit in accordance with the Meta Privacy Policy and Supplemental Meta Platforms Technologies Privacy Policy (as applicable).

Meta is not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from any lost, damaged, or stolen Meta Gift Cards, or any use of your store credit without your permission. Meta will not replace lost, damaged, or stolen Meta Gift Cards or store credit unless required by applicable law. For physical Meta Gift Cards, risk of loss and title pass to the purchaser upon purchase. For store credit and digital Meta Gift Cards, risk of loss passes to the holder upon electronic transmission.

META, THE STORE OPERATORS AND EACH OF THEIR PARENT AND AFFILIATED ENTITIES, SERVICE PROVIDERS, LICENSEES, AND LICENSORS MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO AVAILABLE BALANCE, META GIFT CARDS, OR CONTENT, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN THE EVENT THAT A META GIFT CARD AS DELIVERED IS NONFUNCTIONAL, YOUR SOLE REMEDY, AND OUR SOLE LIABILITY, SHALL BE THE REPLACEMENT OF SUCH META GIFT CARD. SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE DISCLAIMERS, EXCLUSIONS, OR LIMITATIONS MAY BE LIMITED BY APPLICABLE LAW. CERTAIN STATE LAWS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES, AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AGREE THAT YOU SHALL NOT SUE FOR OR RECOVER ANY DAMAGES FROM META, THE STORE OPERATORS, EACH OF THEIR PARENTS AND AFFILIATED ENTITIES, OR ANY OF THEIR DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, CONTRACTORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, LICENSEES AND LICENSORS AS A RESULT OF ANY DECISION TO REMOVE OR REFUSE TO PROCESS ANY INFORMATION OR CONTENT, WARN OR NOT WARN YOU, SUSPEND OR TERMINATE YOUR ACCESS TO AVAILABLE BALANCE, OR YOUR ACCOUNT, OR TAKE ANY OTHER ACTION DURING THE INVESTIGATION OF A SUSPECTED VIOLATION OR AS A RESULT OF META’S CONCLUSION THAT A VIOLATION OF THESE TERMS HAS OCCURRED. THIS WAIVER PROVISION APPLIES TO ALL VIOLATIONS DESCRIBED IN OR CONTEMPLATED BY THESE TERMS.

From time to time, we may, in our sole discretion, run promotional programs associated with store credit or Meta Gift Cards (“Promotion(s)”). Promotions may also be run by a vendor selected by Meta or by a participating developer or publisher of Content (“Qualifying Publisher”). If you purchase store credit or a Meta Gift Card during a Promotion, you may be eligible to receive certain promotional bonuses (“Bonus”), subject to your compliance with any Promotion terms and conditions.

We and/or the Qualifying Publisher may modify or end a Promotion, or change its terms and conditions, at any time, for any reason, and without prior notice.

Bonuses (if applicable) are only available during the Promotion period, as defined in the Promotion terms and conditions, and while supplies last.

Your Bonus is personal to you and may not be exchanged, transferred, assigned, resold, or shared with family, friends or others, or used by you for any commercial purpose. Bonuses are not eligible for refund. Bonuses received as a result of a Promotion are promotional and have no cash value. Promotions are void where prohibited or restricted by law.

By purchasing a Meta Gift Card or store credit, by redeeming a Meta Gift Card, or by using store credit, you represent and warrant that you are complying with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, these Terms, and any other third-party terms and conditions which you may be subject to.

1. You represent and confirm that you will comply with all U.S., EU, and applicable non-US export controls, import controls and economic or trade sanctions laws (“Trade Laws”) in your purchase and use of Meta Gift Cards and store credit. You represent and warrant that you are not prohibited by Trade Laws from purchasing or using Meta Gift Cards or store credit and that you will not use Meta Gift Cards or store credit in a manner that could violate or reasonably cause Meta or other users to violate Trade Laws. If you are prohibited from purchasing or using Meta Gift Cards or store credit under Trade Laws, agreeing to these Terms does not represent nor constitute you entering into an agreement with Meta nor otherwise authorize you to use Meta Gift Cards or store credit; even if you click “agree,” these Terms are null and void. In making this representation with respect to Trade Laws, you represent and confirm that none of: (i) you; (ii) any of your affiliates; (iii) any other person having a beneficial interest in you; or (iv) any person for whom you are acting as agent in connection with these Terms is: (a) an individual or entity that is the subject of economic or trade sanctions administered or enforced by the U.S., EU, or other applicable governmental authority or otherwise designated on any list of prohibited or restricted parties (including but not limited to the lists maintained by the United Nations Security Council, the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the European Union or its Member States, the United Kingdom, or other applicable Governmental Authority), or (b) an individual or entity organized, located, or resident in a country or territory that is the subject of comprehensive country-wide, territory-wide, or regional sanctions.

2. You agree that you have no rights or interests, vested or otherwise, in Meta Gift Cards or store credit unless and until Meta confirms your right to redeem Meta Gift Cards or receive store credit under applicable laws, rules and regulations.

These Terms incorporate and are subject to the Meta Horizon Store Terms. To the extent you use a Meta Gift Card or store credit for Hardware Purchases on MDC, the MDC Terms of Sale apply. To the extent you use a Meta Gift Card or store credit for Hardware Purchases at a Meta Lab Store, the Meta Lab Terms of Sale apply. Use of your store credit is additionally subject to Supplemental Meta Platforms Technologies Terms of Service. These Terms together with the other terms referenced herein form the entire agreement between you and Meta with respect to the purchase and use of Meta Gift Cards and store credit. You agree that the governing law and dispute resolution provisions of the Meta Horizon Store Terms shall apply to any disputes regarding these Terms and Meta Gift Cards and store credit, unless otherwise expressly stated. To the extent these Terms conflict with or are inconsistent with the terms of the Meta Horizon Store Terms or the Supplemental Meta Platforms Technologies Terms of Service, these Terms will apply.
