Meta Quest Digital Content Referral Program Terms

A. App Referral

Earn up to $5.00 USD in Promotional Quest cash for yourself and a 15% discount for your friends and family members who purchase your referred app using your referral link!

How it works: Meta Quest device owners (“Advocates”) can refer a particular app (“App”) to users with mutual follower status who also own Meta Quest devices (“Friends”) with a personalized link. Your personalized referral link can only be generated once per app and only redeemed three times. If Advocate’s Friends follow the link, “accept” the referral while logged into their Meta account (“Profile”), and purchase the App from the same Profile used to accept within seven days they will receive a 15% discount on their App purchase (“Discount”) and the Advocate will receive Promotional Quest cash up to $5.00 USD (“Credit”) depending on the app referred. To be eligible for referral, the Friend must purchase an App with a value of at least $10.00 USD. Users can earn $1.00 USD for apps priced between $10-$19.99, $2.00 USD for apps priced between $20-$29.99, $3.00 USD for apps priced between $30-$39.99, $4.00 USD for apps priced between $40-$49.99, and $5.00 USD for apps priced >$50.00.

There are two ways to share: Advocates can (1) select share from the app library or from the Referral Hub located in the Menu in the Meta Horizon mobile app, or (2) copy the link for the App they want to share and send it to Friends. The Friend(s) need to click on the link and accept the app referral. On the confirmation page, Friends can select "You're all set! Now it's time to buy your app” which will take them to the Meta Horizon Store to purchase the app.

Advocates must be logged into their Profile to receive the Credit. The Friend will need to type the code “FRIEND15” at check out to obtain the 15% Discount for the purchase of the App. The Friend can accept and activate the referral link anytime as long as the Advocate’s link is active. After claiming the App referral, the Friend will have seven days to purchase the app. If the Friend chooses not to buy the App immediately, they can go back to the app in the Meta Horizon Store within seven days and the Discount will be auto applied. The Credit for the Advocate will become redeemable 15 days after the Friend purchases the App. Once an earned Credit is available to an Advocate’s account, it can be redeemed. Advocates will not be eligible to receive the Credit if they refund the referred App within 14 days of sending the referral to the Friend.

Limitations: Limit to one Discount per App: if a Friend accepts a referral from an Advocate for a particular App, the Friend will not be able to activate a Discount for the same App referred by a different advocate as long as the former Discount is still active. This limitation will remain in effect until the seven day period is completed. If the original Discount code has expired after seven days, the Friend will be able to accept a new referral for the same app.

B. Subscription Referral

Get complimentary subscription time for yourself and a free trial for your friends and family members who purchase a subscription using your referral link!

How it works: Advocates can refer a particular app subscription (“Subscription”) to a Friend with a personalized link. If Advocate’s Friends follow the link, “accept” the referral while logged into their Profile, and activate the Subscription, they will receive a 30-day free trial. Once the Friend makes their first Subscription payment the Advocate will receive a complimentary thirty-day extension on their active Subscription. Only an Advocate who is an active (or trial) subscriber to the Subscription can refer a Friend. To be eligible for referral, the Friend must not be an active (or trial) or past subscriber to the Subscription and must not have previously accepted a referral from an Advocate. The Friend can only receive a free trial once per App.

There are two ways to share: Advocates can (1) select, share, or copy the unique referral link to share with their Friends from the Subscription’s product detail page, or (2) select the Subscription from the App referrals page located in the Menu in the Meta Horizon mobile app and copy the unique referral link to share with their Friends. The Friend(s) need to click on the link and accept the Subscription referral. On the confirmation page, the Friend(s) can select "Subscribe now” which will take them to the Meta Horizon Store to activate the Subscription. The Friend(s) will receive their free trial when they activate the Subscription.

Advocates must be logged into their Profile to receive the complimentary subscription time. The Friend can accept and activate the referral link anytime as long as the Advocate’s link is active. After claiming the Subscription referral, the Friend will have 7 days to activate the Subscription. If the Friend chooses not to activate the Subscription immediately, they can go back to the Subscription in the Meta Horizon Store within 7 days and the free trial will be auto applied. The complimentary subscription time for the Advocate will become redeemable after the Friend makes their first payment on the Subscription following their free trial. Once the complimentary subscription time is available to an Advocate’s account, it can be redeemed.

Limitations: Limit to one free trial per App: if a Friend accepts a referral from an Advocate for a particular App, the Friend will not be able to activate a free trial for the same App referred by a different Advocate as long as the accepted referral from the Advocate is still active. This limitation will remain in effect until the 7 day period is completed. If the accepted referral link has expired after 7 days, the Friend will be able to accept a new referral for the same App.

The developer for the App may opt out of the Subscription referral program at any time. If the developer opts out, Advocates will not be able to share new referral links to Friends. If an Advocate has already shared a referral link to a Friend, but the developer has since opted out of the program, such referral links will remain active for 14 days after the developer opted out.

C. General Terms for Digital Content Referral

Eligibility: This Program is void where restricted and/or prohibited and may not be combined with any other offer or promotion unless otherwise expressly stated in the terms of an offer. Participants must be at least 18 years old or the legal age of majority in the jurisdiction where the Advocate resides. Advocates and Friends must own a Meta Quest device.

General Program Rules: Quantities of Discounts/Credits for app referrals and complimentary subscription time/free trials for subscription referrals are subject to availability and may be limited. Credits earned for this Program cannot be combined with Promotional Quest cash earned from other promotions for the purchase of an App under this Program. The Program may be terminated at any time, without prior notification, at Meta Platforms, Inc.’s (“Meta”) discretion.

Advocates are the actual sender of all communications they may send in connection with this Program and Advocates must comply with all applicable laws. Referrals must be created and distributed in a responsible manner that is appropriate and customary for digital communications. By sending any communications as part of the Program, Advocates represent that they have the appropriate permission and consent. Mass communications or email distribution to strangers or posting referral links or codes on review sites, or any other use of the services described herein in a manner outside the intent of the Program is expressly prohibited and may be grounds for immediate termination from further participation in the program and further legal action. Meta has no obligation to monitor the Program; however, Meta may choose to do so and prohibit any use of the Program. Advocates must disclose when sending referral links that they will receive a Credit if the Friend uses the referral link to purchase the App. This is a Federal Trade Commission requirement.

This Program may be modified, suspended and/or discontinued by Meta at any time, with or without notice. In such event, any existing Credit links shall remain active until their applicable expiration date. Please note that Meta frequently implements changes, experiments, extensions and limitations for a variety of purposes at various times (the “Changes”). Every offer and the entire Program are subject to such Changes and other terms and conditions which Meta may impose at any time. All of the foregoing shall be subject to Meta’s unlimited discretion. Your participation in the Program is subject to all of the foregoing and any such Changes Meta may make. Meta may, in its sole discretion, restrict participation in any program(s), offer(s), and/or transaction(s) should it determine that any actions by Advocates are fraudulent, suspicious, and/or in violation of these and/or other applicable terms.

You are responsible for reporting and must pay any and all applicable taxes (including, without limitation, applicable federal, state, territorial and/or local taxes) with respect to any consideration, revenue, benefit and/or value paid to (or received by) Advocates as a result of your participation in the Program. By participating in the Program, Advocates hereby authorize Meta to deduct an amount from any such consideration payable as required by the federal, state, and/or local and tax law, or under other applicable law to ensure proper collection of all applicable taxes before delivery of any consideration, if any. If payment is required, and Advocates do not pay such taxes prior to receiving the Credit, their Credit will be deemed forfeited. Advocates further understand that if requested, they will provide Meta or its authorized representative(s) with an applicable tax ID, tax forms, documents, or certifications as may be required by applicable law for Meta to satisfy any tax information reporting and/or withholding tax obligations with respect to any payments hereunder.

Promotional Quest cash Terms: Promotional Quest cash has no cash value and is non-transferrable; and can only be applied towards the purchase of qualifying items on the Meta Horizon Store. Advocates may not send referral links to themselves.

Promotional Quest cash can only be redeemed and utilized on an eligible device for items which can be purchased in the Meta Horizon Store. Promotional Quest cash may only be used once and only by the intended recipient. This offer is not valid on prior purchases. Promotional Quest cash cannot be applied towards taxes or any shipping and handling fees. Improper attempts to use or redeem will invalidate eligibility. Promotional Quest cash (or any unused portion thereof) automatically expires in 12 months from the date the Credit is credited to an Advocate’s account. From time to time, Meta may also offer Advocates rewards that are not in the form of Promotional Quest cash, and that may be subject to additional terms and conditions.
