What is happening?
We are participating in a voluntary recall of the Meta Quest 2 removable foam facial interface in coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). For context: As more people started using Meta Quest 2, we received reports that a very small percentage of Meta Quest 2 customers were experiencing skin irritation after using the Meta Quest 2 removable foam facial interface. We’ve been working hard to address the issue, working with experts and making adjustments to our manufacturing process, and communicating proactively with regulators.
The safety and comfort of every customer is our top priority. As part of this commitment we are now offering a free silicone cover to Meta Quest 2 headset and Meta Quest 2 Fit Pack owners globally.
Is my Meta Quest 2 part of the recall?
Meta has issued a voluntary recall of the Meta Quest 2 removable foam facial interface in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. We are now offering a free silicone cover to all Meta Quest 2 headset, Meta Quest 2 facial interface accessory and Meta Quest 2 Fit Pack owners.

Do I need to stop using my Meta Quest 2?
If you experience a skin irritation or reaction, you should immediately stop using the removable foam facial interface, and should contact Meta to receive a free silicone cover.
Am I eligible to receive a free Meta Quest 2 Silicone Cover?
All Meta Quest 2 or Meta Quest 2 Fit Pack owners who bought a new headset prior to 8/24/21 are eligible to receive a free Meta Quest 2 Silicone Cover. Anyone who purchased a new Meta Quest 2 or Meta Quest 2 Fit Pack on or after 8/24/21 received a silicone cover in-box and is not eligible to receive an additional free Meta Quest 2 Silicone Cover.
